Florence Pugh is all about body positivity when it comes to wearing sheer dresses and showing her body on the red carpet.

Not only does the "Oppenheimer" actress defend her decision but she also feels that people need to embrace and accept their bodies better, talking about the pink Valentino gown she wore a year back.

When it comes to fashion, Pugh is far from the person looking to step onto the red carpet in perfect shape. In fact, she's more than happy to show off her imperfections given that her style is honest, even if others consider it loud.

In an interview with Elle magazine, Pugh mentioned how she speaks "the way I do about my body because I’m not trying to hide the cellulite on my thigh or the squidge in between my arm and my b--b: I would much rather lay it all out."

She also feels that some of her scariest moments have been when she has "upset" people having shown "too much." Pugh refers to a pink Valentino gown she wore last year, and given that she went braless under the sheer dress, choosing to eschew pasties as well, she bared her chest to all. Said the 27-year-old "Black Widow" actress, "When everything went down with the Valentino pink dress a year ago, my ni--les were on display through a piece of fabric, and it really wound people up."

She explains that the freedom women are now showing with their bodies is scary to many, further saying, "It’s the freedom that people are scared of; the fact I’m comfortable and happy. Keeping women down by commenting on their bodies has worked for a very long time..."

"There's More Than One Reason For Women's Bodies"

Pugh also feels that sheer does not necessarily mean sexual. Said the actress, "I think we’re in this swing now where lots of people are saying, ‘I don’t give a s--t.’ Unfortunately, we’ve become so terrified of the human body that we can’t even look at my two little cute ni--les behind fabric in a way that isn’t sexual. We need to keep reminding everybody that there is more than one reason for women’s bodies [to exist]."

Back when she wore the dress, almost a year ago, Pugh was verbally assaulted by many of the men in the crowd, some of whom had the audacity to complain about her small chest size. But Pugh was not one to let this slide by, as she took on the "critics" in an IG post, asking them dead on, what their problem was with her body!

Wrote Pugh, "So many of you wanted to aggressively let me know how disappointed you were by my ‘tiny t--s’, or how I should be embarrassed by being so ‘flat chested’. I’ve lived in my body for a long time. I’m fully aware of my br---t size and am not scared of it. What’s more concerning is…. Why are you so scared of br---ts? Small? Large? Left? Right? Only one? Maybe none? What. Is. So. Terrifying."

Of course, since none of the men could answer her question, Pugh repeated another sheer, chest-baring dress earlier this year!

Florence Pugh Has Always Loved Wearing Loud Clothing

The sheer dresses can be thought of as an evolution of Pugh's style who has always been a self-confessed loud dresser. She loves bold and brash colors and strange outfits, and if people get shocked but her along the way - so be it.

While the men may not have been very happy about her showing off her "small-sized" chest, all the women who Pugh walked by at the 2022 Valentino Couture show in Italy knew she was having a blast. Said Pugh, talking to Elle magazine, "Women were drawn to the fact that I was completely happy. That’s been a massive aspect of my career and my life: accepting who I am, and not running away from it."

Here's Pugh, telling everyone that technically, "they are covered!"
