Jay-Z's social media presence continues to give "never let them know your next move" vibes!
The Hip-hop superstar needs no introduction, given his status as a G.O.A.T. in the entertainment industry. Despite having little to no interactions with fans on platforms like Instagram, the 53-year-old's influence has not dimmed.
Nearly two years after deactivating his account on the famous media-sharing site, the "Empire State Of Mind" hitmaker recently returned to the Meta-owned venture. Surprisingly, the 24-time Grammy winner's comeback was for the same reason he joined the social media platform in 2021.
Jay-Z Relaunches His Instagram Account To Promote Upcoming Movie 'The Book of Clarence'
The Roc Nation founder's fans had double reasons to celebrate on Tuesday, August 29, as the entertainment mogul returned to Instagram with the trailer for his upcoming Biblical masterpiece, "The Book of Clarence."
The father of three debuted the bombshell teaser on his page, marking the "No Church in the Wild" rapper's first post since he shut down his social media page in 2021. Similar to his comeback, the media personality had joined Instagram to promote the Netflix movie he co-produced, "The Harder They Fall."
Like his first project, Jay-Z was one of the producers of the upcoming film, "The Book of Clarence." The 3-time AMA winner partnered with the sensational filmmaker Jeymes Samuel, the creative mind behind "THTF," to make the 2024 movie.
In the trailer for the Biblical story, the opening monologue began with Oscar nominee LaKeith Stanfield revealing himself as the titular character. "I'm Clarence. I'm not a man without faults. I played the cards I was dealt," the sensational actor said as the screen flashed with scenes from the Jerusalem-focused film.
The trailer showed Clarence enviously watching Jesus receive admiration from his followers. When his companion (played by RJ Cyler) noted he wished to be like the messiah in the future, Stanfield's character declared he wanted "to be like that now."
Armed with his newfound determination for power, the clip continued showing Clarence's journey to obtain wealth and fame as God's messenger. In one scene, he concocts a devious plan with Cyler's character to create false miracles and begins reaping the rewards of posing as a messiah.
However, the video's concluding scenes show that Clarence's new status places him in the Roman empire's sights, and their representatives try to unmask his schemes publicly. The teaser featured several familiar faces, including Omar Sy, David Oyelowo, Teyana Taylor, James McAvoy, Anna Diop, and Alfre Woodard.
The clip also promised new music from Jay-Z, Samuel, and more artists. "The Book of Clarence. January 2024," the Hip-hop star captioned the post. Naturally, fans were pleasantly surprised by the 53-year-old's subtle return to Instagram and implored the record producer to stay.
"Goat is back," someone cheered while another begged, "Stay for a while this time." A third expressed excitement for the entertainer's return, writing: "Welcome back again." However, some suspected the BRIT Award winner might pull another disappearing act.
"This old ahh nigga finna delete his shi in 2 days just watch," a fan claimed. "You back for good, or you gon delete in 24 hours like last time," another wondered. A fellow disbeliever of Jay-Z's social media presence declared: "Every time you do this, imma follow you and act shocked when you disappear again."
As of this writing, the "Empire State Of Mind" rapper has 39.8K followers and is following just one person — none other than his wife Beyoncé.

The 40/40 Club Founder Deactivated His Instagram Shortly After Joining The Platform
As stated above, the "Forever Young" hitmaker first became an IG member in 2021 before shutting down his account for an almost two-year hiatus. The Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder created his official page to promote his Western film, "The Harder They Fall."
The father of three shared a poster for the Netflix movie, amassing over half a million likes, as fans and celebrities commemorated his debut on the media-sharing platform. Additionally, the 53-year-old broke a unique record by becoming the first person his wife, Beyoncé, had ever followed.
A-listers like Gwyneth Paltrow, Tracy Anderson, and Drew Barrymore, among others, gave the Hip-hop billionaire a warm welcome. However, their love was not enough to make the entrepreneur's stay permanent.
A day after appearing on Instagram, the "Excuse Me Miss" rapper deactivated his account without warning. Following his sudden disappearance, fans debated the reason behind Jay-Z's social media exit.
“Jay-Z got a panic attack from the internet and left Instagram,” someone claimed, while another jokingly penned: “I knew it was Jay-Z that took Beyoncé’s phone and hit that follow button. My girl finally got her phone back and unfollowed him.”
