Olivia Culpo Reveals How She Supported Sophia Culpo Through Braxton Berrios Split

Pageant queen Olivia Culpo was there to support her younger sister Sophia Culpo amid her difficult split with Braxton Berriosearlier this year.

The two had a pretty bad break-up which led to leaked text messages and allegations that the NFL star had cheated on her with TikTok star Alix Earle. Although the timeline of the split is still up for debate, it's clear that Sophia had her older sister to help her through it!

It looks like the former pageant queen had some good advice for her sister following her extremely public breakup with Braxton Berrios. “I just told her that this will all pass and someday you’ll look back on this and be so proud of the strength that you had to get through the hardest moments,” Olivia, 31, told E! News on Tuesday.

“And it’s funny because now she is in that place and we can look back and think, ‘Thank God that happened,'” she continued. “Especially in the public eye and with so many opinions and social media is so toxic.”

Sophia had first addressed the split on social media when a fan asked about it during an “Ask Me Anything” session on her Instagram Stories. “I wasn’t able to talk about this when it first happened,” Sophia said at the time. “I still don’t really have words. I’m not really one to air out a bunch of dirty details.”

She said that their relationship “didn’t end well,” and admitted that “a lot of trust was broken,” which forced her to rely on her “support system” to help her through the breakup.

“I haven’t addressed this because it’s been really hard to come to terms with and process. I’ll say that it didn’t end well or honestly,” she continued. “A lot of trust was broken. But I have an amazing support system and I appreciate everyone’s love & support so, so much. This community never fails to amaze me.”

“But I do know that I shared my relationship with you guys so it makes sense that there are questions about why this person is no longer in my life,” she continued. “I know that I’ve lost a lot of weight. It’s not intentional. The betrayal in my last relationship just really took a toll on me, but I have the most amazing support system.”

Sophia praised her family and her friends for helping her through the breakup. “I have the most amazing family and friends and I’m really grateful that I’m even able to pick myself up and move myself to a new place on my own,” she continued. “So, there are a lot of things that I am grateful for… I don’t wish what I went through on anybody. I really, really don’t and I’m trying my best to just take the high road here.”

“I appreciate everyone’s love and support, I really do. It means a lot to me,” she added. “Us girls’ girls gotta stick together and one day I will share all the lessons that I’ve learned.”

In his own Instagram Stories, Braxton insisted that the relationship ended simply because they weren’t compatible as a couple anymore. “I don’t want to start anything. I don’t want to fuel anything,” he said at the time. “I genuinely want all of this to be over and everybody to move on and do whatever makes them happy.”

“I was in a relationship for two years,” he continued, referring to his relationship with Sophia. “It was a good relationship, it was a healthy one. And towards the end of it, we had conversations along the lines of we just weren’t working out. So when we split back in January, that’s why.”

Berrios claimed that, when they called it quits, it “had nothing to do with anybody else.” He went on to say that their relationship “just didn’t work out and that’s okay.” He continued, “It’s been very weird and sad to see kind of what’s gone on since then. I’ve been quiet because it’s totally out of character for me to talk about my private life, publicly. But I feel like it needed to be touched on now.”

Although he claimed that their relationship ended back in January, Sophia has published alleged text messages between the two that make it look like they were really together into February.

At the end of the text messages, Sophia wrote, “The real timeline. We broke up after the Drake concert at Super Bowl weekend where he was seen making out with another girl. Not bitter, in fact, I know this situation has been one of my biggest blessings. I wish everyone in this situation all the best, including myself which is why I’m here to share the truth so I can officially be done with all of this. All love.”
