Ryan Reynolds is on a money-making roll! Fresh off the multimillion-dollar sale of his Aviation American Gin enterprise, the Hollywood heartthrob is ready to dominate the beer industry.
The sensational actor needs little introduction, given his status as a beloved entertainer thanks to his comedic gifts. While his acting skills are undisputed, many may not realize the 46-year-old's talents as a businessman.
Outside the film industry, the TV personality has built his wealth through several successful investments. This included the Vancouver native's co-ownership of the Welsh football club Wrexham AFC. Following the team's successes, the Saturn Award winner plans to create lagers inspired by their name.
Ryan Reynolds Set To Capitalize On Wrexham's Promotion To The Football League With New Alcohol Venture
The "Deadpool" star became a member of the soccer community after purchasing the Welsh club with fellow actor Rob McElhenney. The pair's investment in the team recently paid off as the group won promotion back to the English Football League after a 15-year absence.
As the team's achievements grow, the father of four reportedly plans on riding on their successes by launching a range of football-inspired beers. Per Mirror, the "Free Guy" actor has an alcohol brand already in works with Wrexham-oriented names trademarked in both the UK and the US.
The licensed monikers included "It's Always Sunny in Wrexham," coined from his pal McElhenney's beloved TV series "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." The second name is "R&R Lager," representing the dynamic duo's initials.
The third, "Max Effort Lager," references Reynolds' production company Maximum Effort. As stated, the entertainer's move on the beer industry comes after selling his Aviation American Gin company for a whopping deal of up to $610 million.
2023 appears to be the 46-year-old's business era as the beer venture is not Reynolds' only money-making plan. In June, Formula 1 announced the famous actor entered the race car domain with an investment in one of their teams.
On the racing empire's official Twitter account, the sports group revealed the Vancouver sensation partnered with other parties for a stake in F1's Alpine Race team. The tweet read: “BREAKING: Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds is part of an investor group taking a 24% equity stake in Alpine.”
The highlighted investor group consisted of the "Pokémon Detective Pikachu" star via his Maximum Effort Investments company — backed by actors Michael B. Jordan and Rob McElhenney. Reynolds' venture partnered with the private equity firms RedBird Capital Partners and Otro Capital.
Additionally, Renault Group, the owner of Alpine, confirmed the news in a statement. The CEO, Luca de Meo, expressed the company's joy with the partnership, claiming it would usher in a new age for the race group.
“Formula 1 and Alpine are strategic assets for Renault Group. Over the past two years, we have reignited Alpine, capitalizing on its iconic A110 sports coupe, boosting it by entering Formula 1, where it aims to become a championship contender,” the statement read. “This partnership will accelerate Alpine F1 development by diversifying revenue drivers and increasing brand value.”
The 'Buried' Star's Wife Blake Lively Received Backlash For Her Alcohol Business
Months before Reynolds' move into the beer industry, his wife, Blake Lively, came under fire for launching a liquor line despite being a non-drinker. The blonde beauty announced the business venture on her Instagram page, sharing a stunning photoshoot for the new products.
The "Green Lantern" actress entered the beverage industry with her sparkling mixer brand, Betty Buzz, a non-alcoholic project. However, she upped her game with Betty Booze, a line of liquor-themed drinks with three unique flavors.
The canned cocktails included “Sparkling Bourbon with Apple Ginger Sour Cherry,” “Sparkling Tequila with Oak Smoked Lemonade,” and “Sparking Tequila with Lime Shiso.” In the promotional post, Lively confessed to being a non-drinker, but as a lover of flavors, she had to launch Betty Booze.
“Drinking isn’t my thing. But for f* sake, flavor is. Homemade recipes. Real fruit. Real ingredients. Quality booze. No crap. Also a real-time saver. Which is why I really did it. @bettybooze,” the mother of four captioned the post.
As stated, fans were unimpressed by her alcoholic venture and accused the Los Angeles beauty of trying to rip off the public. “How can you market/create a product you don’t openly consume yourself? Come the f on now,” someone wailed.
“Really tired of the celebs milking alcoholism when they know it’s toxic and dangerous and don’t drink themselves. Money grab from the Celebs,” another quipped.
