Jessie J, who is always an open book to her fans, is getting candid about the not-so-rosy parts of motherhood.

The BBC's Sound of 2011 awardee is a doting mom to her only son, Sky Safir Colman, whom she welcomed in May with her boyfriend, Chanan Colman.

Although being a parent is one of the best things that has happened to Jessie, she recently got candid about the most trying part of the responsibility, weeks after lamenting about its impact on her sleeping schedule.

"Recovery/tired af," she shared. "Whilst needing to be the best version of yourself in so many areas, whilst trying to work out who you are again. That's been the hardest for ME. Different for everyone."

Another fan then asked the "Laserlight" songstress, "What's been the biggest surprise for you since becoming a mum?" She confessed that welcoming her son was her "biggest surprise," which she would always be grateful for as she spent most of her life being told she would never have a child.

Jessie, who suffered a miscarriage in 2021, added that she often had to tell herself to "drop my shoulders" and just enjoy every moment of being a mother.

Fortunately, she has her baby daddy who basks in every moment with her while assisting in parenting their son, save for when he is away, like earlier this month when Jessie was tasked with caring for Sky alone. The "Bang Bang" musician lamented about the situation at the time on her Instagram Story, admitting that she felt exhausted due to three straight sleepless nights of parenting their son on her own.

She uploaded a snap of her son asleep in his cot alongside a note revealing that the lack of sleep had left her feeling wearier than usual. "Legit haven't slept in three days," Jessie penned. "Daddy away so all me. And he has turned into a snoring gremlin clarinet. Help."

In an ensuing update, she showed support to other single parents, hailing them for their unrelenting efforts in bringing their kids up alone. In her words:

"Hugging all the mums and Dads doing it alone right now. Delusional, exhausted, and doing your best. You the MVP."

The "It's My Party" songstress also poked fun at her disrupted sleeping routine, disclosing that the situation led her to make mistakes like accidentally feeding Sky the bottle lid.  Prior to her revelation, she opened up about embracing breast pumps and described them as "life-changing."

Jessie appeared overjoyed about the accessory as she was filmed dancing around the room, holding Sky. She also pointed out the practicality of the pumps, saying: "I never knew before now how amazing and beautiful but hard and tiring pumping and breastfeeding can be on your body, sleep, and day-to-day life. I am a mover, a non-sit stiller, a hands-on kinda lady."

The mother-of-one then explained that she was able to "whip them out and put them on anywhere and everywhere," including "shopping, eating out, even at the doctor," leading her to describe it as "a LIFE saver."

The 'Who You Are' Musician Got Real About Being Inconsistent With Working Out Following Pregnancy

This isn't the first time the English songstress has been candid about the rough parts of postpartum and motherhood. Months after welcoming baby Sky, Jessie returned to working out and in the process was the subject of awe from her fans.

However, forever one to keep things real, the "Price Tag" singer shared with her community that she was not so consistent with working out on her Instagram Story. She mentioned that people regularly asked her how often she exercised based on her posts, prompting her to divulge that she had done so only three times since childbirth.

At the time of the update, her son was 14 weeks old. Jessie added that she never had a regular fitness routine, even before getting pregnant, and would never be consistent.
