Actor Alec Baldwin is reportedly worried that he will have to face criminal charges for the October 2021 shooting of "Rust" cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

The 65-year-old actor was holding a prop Colt revolver for a scene when it went off, killing Hutchins and hospitalizing director Joel Souza. "Rust" armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter after live ammunition was found in the gun the "30 Rock" actor was holding.

In June 2023, she was charged with tampering with evidence after prosecutors claimed that she gave a bag of cocaine to another individual on the day that Hutchins died, hindering the police investigation into her death. Her trial has been postponed to early 2024.

Baldwin had also been charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter, but those charges were dropped without prejudice in April, meaning that charges could be refiled at any time. In early June, special prosecutors indicated that they would decide whether or not to press charges within sixty days. However, those sixty days are nearing their end, meaning that Baldwin could be charged again any day now.

Sources told the National Inquirer that Alec Baldwin is worried that he will face new criminal charges following a new report conducted by firearm experts in New Mexico to aid the prosecution in their case against Hannah Gutierrez-Reed.

"Although Alec Baldwin repeatedly denies pulling the trigger, given the tests, findings, and observations reported here, the trigger had to be pulled or depressed sufficiently to release the fully cocked or retracted hammer of the evidence revolver," the report states.

"He's losing it! He's worried sick he could end up behind bars," the insider alleged, as per Radar Online. The actor, who recently welcomed his eighth child with wife Hilaria Baldwin last September, is worried about missing more family milestones after celebrating his eldest daughter's tenth birthday last week.

Although Baldwin has frequently denied firing the gun and pulling the trigger, attorney Pete Gleason, who is also a former NYPD detective told the National Enquirer that the gun "doesn't fire itself."

Last week, the "Supercell" actor also failed in his bid to get a civil suit filed by three former "Rust" employees thrown out.

Last Wednesday, Deadline was the first to report that New Mexico’s First Judicial District Court Judge Bryan Biedscheid denied a motion placed by Alec Baldwin and co-defendants El Dorado Pictures and Rust Movie Productions to dismiss the lawsuit filed by three “Rust” crew members: Ross Addiego, Doran Curtin, and Reese Price. Judge Biedscheid also denied a motion to stay the lawsuit until the criminal case had been resolved.

The three former “Rust” crew members filed a lawsuit asking for unspecified damages after asserting that they are the victims of “negligent and reckless conduct” from Alec Baldwin, El Dorado Pictures, and Rust Movie Productions. According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the three former employees insist that they “are entitled to damages for their injuries caused by Defendants’ negligent and reckless conduct.”

The former employees are all seeking “compensatory and punitive damages, jointly and severally,” for loss of “enjoyment of life” and loss of “value of lost earnings and present cash value of earning capacity.”

All three former employees go into vivid detail about what happened on the day that Hutchins was shot and killed. Reese Price claims that he “saw the muzzle flash of the revolver in Defendant Baldwin’s hand. He felt the physical force of the gunfire in the small space. His ears began to ring. He felt as if everything was moving in slow motion. He saw Souza screaming and crawling away from Defendant Baldwin. Desperate and scared, crew members began to yank Plaintiff Price by the shirt and out of the church. Plaintiff Price realized the revolver had been fired towards him and his colleagues.”

Ross Addiego claims that he saw the same flash and “felt the same disorienting sound, force, and physical trauma from the gunshot. He heard Souza’s muffled screams and began to navigate the chaos. He became aware that he had just witnessed Defendant Baldwin fire the revolver towards him and the group in which he was standing.”

Doran Curtin claims that she also felt the “same sound, force, and physical trauma” from the gunshot. “She watched Hutchins fall to the ground right in front of her,” the court documents state. “With Hutchins at her feet, other crew members instructed Plaintiff Curtin to remove Hutchins’ headset. She bent down and removed the equipment from Hutchins’ head. She watched in shock as Hutchins grabbed at her abdomen.”

It remains to be seen if Alec Baldwin will face criminal charges for her death. Hannah Gutierrez-Reed has pled not guilty and waived her right to a preliminary hearing. Her Santa Fe trial had been tentatively schedule for February 21, 2024.
