And just like that… Carrie Bradshaw has dementia?!?
If you’re a diehard “Sex and the City” fan, then this fan theory is about to crush your soul.
Apologies in advance.
Read On For WILD Fan Theory About Carrie Bradshaw!
Following the season two finale of the ‘SATC’ spin-off, “And Just Like That,” fans are wildin’ out about the state of Carrie Bradshaw’s mental health.
Carrie was first brought to life by Sarah Jessica Parker back in the late ‘90s. She’s the ring leader of a group of four horny females living in New York City and weathering the trials and tribulations of dating.
Fast forward to 2023, Carrie is a widow who is learning to date and love again.
While it’s great being able to see her date again, fans couldn’t help but notice one glaring issue… her memory or lack thereof.
The first clip in the TikTok video is from season one of ‘AJLT’ following John “Mr. Big” Preston’s death.
Is Carrie Bradshaw Suffering From Dementia?!?
Miranda, played by Cynthia Nixon, asks Carrie, “Where do you keep your coffee?” to which Carrie answers, “The freezer.”
Miranda then offers, “I’m going to make us some.”
Carrie responds, “Some what?”
“Coffee,” Miranda retorts with a confused look on her face.
The narrator of the video says, “This is where the theory began in which I admit I dismissed due to Carrie being frazzled by grief. ‘Big’ had passed not that long ago and she was still understandably out of it, but this wasn’t the only clue.”
The video goes on to give example after example of Carrie forgetting or being confused about people from her past and monumental moments.
“When Carrie was meeting her ex-fiancé (Aidan Shaw) for a Valentine’s Day date, she accidentally goes to the wrong restaurant. Carrie does not text him (Aidan) and instead waits for him to ask where she is,” the narrator continues. “Upon realizing she’s at the wrong place, it’s revealed that the correct restaurant was literally next door.”
Fans have popped off in the comments section with mixed reactions to this wild theory.
Fans Elevate The 'Dementia' Theory!
One fan replied, “It’s grief not dementia… I’m still finding my way back from this exact thing… 😢💔.”
Another fan agreed with the grief response writing, “Grief and general aging. At 40 I’m losing my train of thought quite a bit.”
“What if this is true and the whole Aidan thing is just in. her mind and never really happened,” one fan theorized.
“Don’t forget when she looked up Norfolk England instead of America for Aiden,” this fan wrote adding fuel to the fire.
Other fans related to Carrie’s age and that being a factor into forgetfulness.
“As a fifty something let me tell you this is all part of getting older,” they wrote.

While this is currently just a fan theory, it could definitely be used as a new plot line for season three.
It was announced earlier this month that the series got renewed for a third season despite negative reviews.
It will continue streaming on MAX.
“We are thrilled to spend more time in the ‘Sex And The City’ universe telling new stories about the lives of these relatable and aspirational characters played by these amazing actors,” said executive producer and show-runner Michael Patrick King. ‘And Just Like That…’ here comes season three.”
