Sarah Jessica Parker Opens Up About Plastic Surgery Dilemma: 'I Don't Really Like Looking At Myself'

Per People magazine, Sarah Jessica Parker opened up about her journey with body image during an interview on "The Howard Stern Show." The 58-year-old candidly discussed her views on her own appearance, stating, "I mean, I'm presentable. I don't really like looking at myself. I mean, I think I'm fine."

In a lighthearted manner, Parker shared that she has pondered procedures like Botox "all the time" and jokingly mentioned asking people if it's too late for her. She humorously recounted their reactions, saying, "They would tell me, 'Well, you not only look rested, but you also look like an entirely different human being.'"

Despite her contemplation, the "And Just Like That" star clarified that she hadn't undergone any cosmetic surgery. She emphasized her support for individuals who choose to pursue such procedures, highlighting the societal pressure, especially on women, regarding appearance.

Parker said, "Even last year when we first went on the air with the new season, there were just so many endless articles about aging and aging gracefully, and 'Sarah Jessica's hair is gray.'" She concluded, "I think people should do whatever makes them feel better walking out the door."

Parker also opened up about her deep connection with her husband, Matthew Broderick. While reflecting on their journey, the "Sex and the City" star shared the unique circumstances that brought them together.

Parker revealed that when they initially crossed paths, she and Broderick were involved with other people. As a result, they decided to stay away from each other and prioritize their existing relationships. She explained, "We understood that we had to do right by the other people and break up officially."

However, fate had other plans for them. Their first official date took place on March 8, 1992; from that moment forward, their connection has been unbreakable. According to Parker, they have "never spent a night apart since then, except for work on location, or his mother was ill for a bit..."

After dating for five years, Parker and Broderick sealed their love with a wedding in May 1997. Their journey as a married couple has been blessed with three children: a son named James Wilkie, now 20, and twin daughters named Tabitha Hodge and Marion Loretta Elwell, who are now 13.

In a 2018 interview with People, the Emmy Award winner shared her thoughts on the enduring success of her marriage. She expressed that the secret to their lasting happiness is not singular as it evolves. Parker mused, "Your needs are shifting. You and your partner are going to change. It seems so silly, but I think you're very lucky if you like the person. I still just really like him. I'm sure I annoy him and he annoys me, but I literally learn about him every day. I'm like, 'You're doing what? You're reading what?'"

Parker also opened up about the moment she realized that Broderick was the one for her. Surprisingly, she admitted, "I never thought about a wedding dress. Never. Had not one daydream about it," she confessed. "At one point I just simply remember thinking, 'God, I really hope he asks me to marry him.' I don't know when or why. It was fairly early on."

In a heartfelt celebration of "Sex and the City's" quarter-century anniversary in New York City, Parker, reprising her iconic role as Carrie Bradshaw in the show's revival, expressed her gratitude for the devoted fans.

She acknowledged the profound impact the series has had on their lives and how it has fostered a sense of connection and community. During the anniversary event, Parker shared, "We're just here to say thank you. What has happened in our lives in the past 25 years, we've created families, we've created relationships. I realized you were having the same experience, and we love you for joining us for so many years."

Cynthia Nixon and Kristen Davis, who also returned to reprise their roles as Miranda Hobbes and Charlotte York, respectively, joined Parker in expressing their appreciation. They added, "Thank you for loving us and tuning in and giving us the opportunity. We just want to say thank you for supporting us, this is how we've been able to do it for so long."
