Over Fourth of July weekend, an altercation broke out between two Guests while in line for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT in Walt Disney World Resort.

A woman named Tiffani reported that an elderly man pushed past her and knocked her down while in line for the popular EPCOT ride. She claims that she fell and twisted her ankle, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s report released this week.

Tiffani declined medical treatment but wants to press charges.

The Orange County Sheriff’s report states that the incident occurred after he took his grandchild to the restroom, and then rejoined the rest of his family in line. Tiffani claims that “she was approached by a woman and a child asking to pass them in line to meet up with their husband. Tiffani suggested that she ask her husband to stop and wait for her to catch up. Tiffani then heard a man’s voice ask her, ‘So you’re not going to let us pass?’ Before Tiffani could respond, the white male pushed her out of the way.”

Tiffani also claimed that there was plenty of space for Michael and the child to go around her in the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind queue without touching her.

The elderly man, Michael, insisted that he did not intentionally push into Tiffani, which the law enforcement seems to believe. He is 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighs 130 pounds, and is 65 years of age according to the sheriff's report.

The 65-year-old told authorities that Tiffani thought he was cutting the line and refused to let her pass by.

“[Michael] explained to her that he was passing back through the line because he took his grandson to the bathroom and he walked around Tiffani. [Michael] advised at no point did he touch or push Tiffani,” the report said.

The elderly man said he wasn’t “walking fast enough through the line to cause anyone to come off-balance or fall down because the line was crowded,” the report also said.

The deputy wrote in the report, “I don’t feel there is substantial evidence to enforce an arrest for battery. At no time was (‘Michael’s) encounter with Tiffani meant to intentionally cause harm and if there was contact between the two [it was] unintentional."

Michael was not arrested, and Disney did not trespass either party.

In another recent incident, a woman sued The Walt Disney Company after being involved in an incident that led her to get “trapped” inside the Monorail doors.

According to the new lawsuit, the incident occurred on March 24, 2023. Rebecca Vanturini was in “excruciating pain being stuck between the monorail doors for a few minutes,” per the lawsuit. “About five male guests tried to pry her loose from the monorail doors and eventually got her out.”

The lawsuit also stated that Disney’s “Cast Members did not help in any way”, adding the “monorail captain got on the intercom and stated there was a malfunction and the monorail would be shut down to restart the system immediately.”

The three-page Orange County lawsuit also stated that Vanturini had “a permanent injury to her body”, though further details were not stated. The lawsuit also does not mention how the Monorail malfunctioned.

Rebecca Vanturini is suing for more than $50,000.
