Actor Sam Asghari reportedly wanted Britney Spears to go back on the medication that she was on during her conservatorship.

The 41-year-old pop star was subject to a conservatorship from February 2008 to November 2021, when it was struck down by a judge. Her father, Jamie Spears, was largely in charge of her personal and financial affairs until this time.

It looks like Britney was also given medication on her conservatorship that she stopped taking; however, it looks like Sam wanted her back on it, or at least, on some kind of structured medication plan.

On Friday, sources told Radar Online that the "Special Ops: Lioness" actor wanted the "Overprotected" singer to return to a “regimented anti-anxiety and depression medication plan” similar to the one that she had been on during her 13-year conservatorship.

The actor had also reportedly encouraged the pop star to “seek more therapy” and “find a psychotherapist” to help “unpack her issues.” However, insiders say that she refused.

On Thursday, August 24, one source told The Sun that “Britney is not a well person without the correct medication,” adding, “No matter what she told her conservatorship judge or assures fans, she needs stability through a very regimented program of meds.”

"After she was released from the conservatorship, she attempted to move away from being reliant on medication,” the source continued. “However, in the last year that has caused many issues with her behavior becoming erratic, violent, and even dangerous.”

"Sam urged her to seek more therapy and even find a psychotherapist, not from her past, who could help unpack her issues and stabilize her thoughts. He also has really pushed for her to return to a medication regime to overcome her anxiety and mood swings," the insider added.

Unfortunately, Sam's push to get Britney on a new medication plan reportedly led to more fights between the couple. “Britney’s experience under the conservatorship has made her fearful and nervous about medication,” the source claimed. “When Sam pushed her on this it would lead to arguments.”

"Britney would accuse him of being like [her] father and wanting control,” they added. “Sam was pushed to the edge even though his intentions were good.”

Jamie Spears To Undergo Surgery Amid Reports Of Failing Health

Britney Spears' Father Slammed Over Conservatorship

Earlier this week, a source told TMZ that Jamie was planning to have surgery on Friday, August 25, the same day the report about Britney's medication was published. According to the outlet, Jamie is "extremely thin" after losing more than twenty-five pounds. Although doctors initially suspected that something might be wrong with his kidneys, it looks like he actually suffered a "terrible" infection from a knee replacement that he had done sixteen years ago.

Britney's brother, Bryan Spears, reportedly told the singer that their father had been in and out of the hospital for months, leaving at least one a source alleging that the pop star is beginning to rethink their estrangement. Sources told the outlet that Britney doesn’t want to “regret waiting too long” to make amends, while Jamie is reportedly “elated” by the possibility of getting a chance to repair his relationship with his daughter before it's too late. It is unclear if the two spoke prior to his surgery on Friday.

Sources told the Daily Mail that Britney is also trying to patch up her relationship with her mother, Lynne Spears, and her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, by deleting some harsh things she wrote about them in her memoir "The Woman In Me," which hits bookshelves this October.

“Britney was not asked by Lynne or Jamie Lynn to remove some of the nasty stuff she’d written about them,” a source told the outlet. “It was her own choice to do this.”

Just last month, another insider told the Daily Mail that Lynne would “not rest” until the family was back together. “Lynne is begging Britney to make amends with her sister Jamie Lynn now,” the source said. “They are both leaning towards a yes. Lynne knows that Britney does miss her sister and she told her that the feeling is obviously mutual.”

Fans will get to see where Britney's relationship with her family stands after her memoir "The Woman In Me" is released on October 24, 2023.
