Jennifer Aniston Reveals Sweet Gesture From Adam Sandler And His Wife
Jennifer Aniston recently shared a heartwarming gesture from her "Murder Mystery" co-star Adam Sandler and his wife in a Wall Street Journal interview. She revealed that Sandler, whom she became close friends with after meeting in their 20s, and his wife send her flowers every Mother's Day to show their love and support.
Last year, Aniston spoke about her fertility struggles in an interview with Allure, mentioning her difficult journey "trying to get pregnant."
Describing the moment as a "challenging period of her life," the 54-year-old emphasized how this experience shaped her, expressing gratitude even for the tough times.
"If it weren't for going through that, I would've never become who I was meant to be. That's why I have such gratitude for all those sh**ty things," she shared.
Aniston candidly discussed "throwing everything at it," including secretly undergoing IVF and trying various methods, including "drinking Chinese teas." Reflecting on her past, she expressed relief and contentment, remarking, "There is no more, 'Can I? Maybe. Maybe. Maybe. I don't have to think about that anymore."
Jennifer Aniston Addresses Rumors About Her Infertility
During the chat, Aniston mentioned that media speculation about her not having children had added to her private fertility struggle, especially after her divorce from Brad Pitt in 2005. At the time, the rumors about the Emmy-winning actress's "refusal" to have children during her marriage to Pitt were particularly cruel.
2016, Aniston finally pushed back against these false narratives in a HuffPost piece. In the essay, she emphasized that women's worth is not defined by having children and that they have the right to make choices about their bodies.
"For the record, I am not pregnant. What I am is fed up," the actress wrote. "Here's where I come out on this topic: We are complete with or without a mate, with or without a child. We get to decide for ourselves what is beautiful regarding our bodies. That decision is ours and ours alone."
She criticized "the objectification and scrutiny" of women in the media, highlighting the unrealistic beauty standards imposed on them.
"The objectification and scrutiny we put women through is absurd and disturbing. The way the media portray me simply reflects how we see and portray women in general, measured against some warped standard of beauty," Aniston wrote.
Her Upbringing Made Relationships 'Difficult'
Aniston's conversation with WSJ revealed that her upbringing significantly shaped her approach to romantic relationships.
She acknowledged that her childhood experiences and family dynamics have made relationships somewhat challenging, stating, "It was always a little bit difficult for me in relationships, I think, because I was alone. I don't know. My parents, watching my family's relationship, didn't make me go, 'Oh, I can't wait to do that,'" she shared.
Aniston continued, "I didn't like sacrificing who you were or what you needed, so I didn't know how to do that. So it was almost easier to be kind of solo. So I didn't have any real training in that give-and-take."
The "We Are The Millers" star admitted that being in a relationship is a learning curve for her, as she's used to excelling in other areas of her life.
'People Like To Think A Lot Of Things About Me
When posed with the question of "the one phone call that changed your life?" Aniston pointed to the opportunity to join "Friends."
Reflecting on her casting experience, she shared, "I had auditioned the day before. I wanted it badly, and I walked into the audition, and there were so many girls. I remember just thinking, 'Oh boy.' I just gave it my all and came home. I think it was that day, by 2 p.m. that same day, I got the job."
Later in the interview, Aniston revealed that she wishes she had learned not to care about others' opinions during her early career. She acknowledged that people like to think many things about me."
She was recently faced with backlash after seemingly "liking" a post by actor Jamie Foxx, which was perceived as antisemitic. Aniston has since denied interacting with the post.
