Melanie Martin Says She Is Raising Son Like Aaron Carter 'Would Have Wanted'

Melanie Martin has opened up about her unique approach to parenting her son, drawing inspiration from the late enigmatic pop sensation Aaron Carter.

Despite their tumultuous relationship, the couple's joy knew no bounds when they embraced parenthood in November 2021. Even after the singer's untimely death, Martin remains determined to pass on all he would have wanted to their baby boy. 

In the wake of his departure, their tiny tot stands as a heartwarming link, allowing her to hold on to the "Blacklisted" singer's memory. Taking to her Instagram page, the model shared a heartwarming reel set to Kyle Hume's tune "If I Would Have Known." 

The short clip started with a view of Martin carrying Prince on her hips as she leaned on the side of a building. This was followed by an adorable picture of the smiling youngster lying on what looks like a car seat.

The 1-year-old, with his late father's signature blonde hair, was also seen seated at a table happily looking at a device. In the caption, Martin emotionally penned:

"I'm so heartbroken but so grateful you have a place to call home as you rest.. A place to visit you with our son. Missing you is the hardest part of life right now but im doing the best I can for him.. I promise to always raise Prince the way you would have wanted. I Love you always my fiancé, the love of my life ❤️until we meet again?️."

In a heartwarming show of support, the post was flooded with comforting comments like this person who wrote, "?? so sorry babe. I know Aaron be so proud of you and his little Prince ❤️‍?? always here for you babe love u ???." 

One supporter reassured the mother-of-one, "You're doing your best, and that's all that matters," another added, "You're a great mom, don't let anyone ever tell you otherwise. Aaron would be very proud of you." A fourth showed empathy while pointing out that the tiny tot "Looks just like his daddy ??. " 

Fans are not the only ones who have noticed the similarities between Prince and the late actor. In June, The Blast noted that the influencer shared a cute snapshot of the growing toddler reveling in what appeared to be a playground. Captured with a mischievous grin, he rocked a stylish ensemble — a white shirt over blue jeans — his mop of blonde hair adding to the charm.

Highlighting the uncanny resemblances, the bartender affectionately detailed the striking features Prince shares with both her and his departed father. "He has my eye shape, skin color and then has Aaron's lips, eye color, nose, eyebrows, and blond hair ? ?," the Bulgarian native shared. 

Taking a poignant trip down memory lane, the "Love Lashes" owner contemplated if the "House of Carter's" alum might have found in the healing embrace of their son. In the post shared on her Instagram, she uploaded a touching collage that portrayed the father-son bond they never got to experience fully. 

The late rapper's exuberant smile adorned the top, where he proudly held two positive pregnancy test wands, while their cheerful little boy graced the bottom of the collage. Alongside this visual tribute, she shared her thoughts on the right side of the image:

"Aaron needed to experience what it's like to not only love your child… but feel what it's like to be loved by your own child. It would have been so healing for him ❤️." 

The entrepreneur's musings came after she emerged triumphant after securing legal custody of Prince. The little boy was under her mother's care due to drug abuse and domestic violence rumors.

Reportedly, Martins swiftly traveled from New York to Los Angeles following the court's favorable ruling. Expressing her happiness to TMZ, the 28-year-old noted that she saw her actions as a tribute to Carter, believing he would be proud. 

In her words, "Aaron would be so happy knowing I got him back." The late star's mother also approved the decision, firmly stating that the child's rightful place was with his mother.
