Scooter Braun is not under investigation by the FBI, a rumor that surfaced during reports he has split with Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande.
According to sources close to the situation, Scooter has never been and isn't the target of any law enforcement or FBI investigation into any crimes. In fact, we're told it is the "most ridiculous thing so far" being reported, during a time when the media is getting some of the stories about him wrong.
To start, the FBI rumor was started after Taylor Swift released the song "Vigilante S--t" which allegedly talks about Scooter's divorce and allegations of infidelity. In the song, Taylor writes, "Now she gets the house, gets the kids, gets the pride / Picture me thick as thieves with your ex-wife / And she looks so pretty Drivin’ in your Benz / Lately, she’s been dressin’ for revenge." Adding, "She needed cold, hard proof, so I gave her some / She had the envelope, where do you think she got it from?"
Of course, fans believed she was talking about Scooter -- who was going through a divorce and ended up settling the case with his ex-wife Yael Cohen getting one of the houses and $60,000 in child support per month.
It should be noted, that we actually broke the story that Scooter used his own media influence to cover up HER alleged infidelity.
Scooter Braun Isn't Under Investigation By The FBI
In the same song, Swift sings "While he was doin’ lines and crossin’ all of mine / Someone told his white-collar crimes to the FBI / And I don’t dress for villains / Or for innocents I’m on my vigilante s--t again."
So, many connected the recent reports of Scooter parting ways with a few of his long-term artists as proof that a criminal investigation might be underway.
It's not. Period.
We're told Scooter Braun is not under investigation for anything by the FBI, or anyone else. Actually, he thinks the whole thing is "kind of funny."
As for the Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande situation, here is what we know...
Justin Bieber & Ariana Grander Didn't Drop Scooter Braun As A Manager
Scooter Braun sold his company "SB Projects" to Korean conglomerate "HYBE" a few years ago. At the time, the billion-dollar deal made him one of the wealthiest people in the music industry. Now, Braun is transitioning to becoming the CEO of the new company and will be backing away from the day-to-day management of artists. Justin Beiber and Ariana Grande were aware of the situation, and a negotiation is underway to configure how the team might work together going forward.
This might include several artists bringing in new day-to-day management. In other words, it's Scooter who decided to back away from the management side of the business and focus on running it as CEO. Details of the negotiation are confidential, but we're told it might include several of the A-list stars building their own brands under the HYBE umbrella.
Justin Bieber denied reports that he dropped Scooter Braun as a manager because the story just isn't true. In fact, Bieber is still under contract with SB Projects and could continue working with the company. The only report accurate about the situation is Demi Lovato. Scooter and Demi have parted ways, and there is "no bad blood."
The bottom line is there is no criminal investigation, most of the stories about people "dropping" Scooter are untrue, and we're told he is "the happiest he has been in a long time."
Oh yeah, and Taylor Swift's song 'Vigilante S--t' is still a banger!
