It looks like Madonna wants to get Britney Spears and her pop star career back on track!

Both the Queen of Pop and the Princess of Pop have made headlines this month for unfortunate reasons. The Queen of Pop suffered a health scare that almost derailed her celebration tour, while Britney's husband, actor Sam Asghari, filed for divorce on August 16 after 14 months of marriage citing "irreconcilable differences."

The two pop stars have been friends for years and it looks like the 65-year-old singer wants to help the 41-year-old pop star get her career back on track... by having her join her Celebration tour!

The “Toxic” singer has previously expressed that she has no desire to tour again after spending decades on stage. However, that might change with an offer from Madonna. A source told Page Six that Madonna is trying to get Britney to perform with her onstage following her divorce.

The two have been friends for a long time and even share the same agent. The two were even spotted locking lips at Britney’s June 2022 wedding to the “Special Ops: Lioness” actor. Madonna is currently in rehearsals for her tour after she was rushed to the ICU in NYC earlier this summer.

“Madonna originally wanted Britney to join her on tour this year,” a source told the outlet. “Everything was pushed back because of her illness, but she still wants Britney to join her at the Kia Forum.”

Although she has had to reschedule her concerts, she wants Britney to perform for at least one of her Los Angeles tour dates scheduled for March 2024. Their hit song “Me Against the Music” was released in October 2003, and Madonna would love it if Britney would join her on stage to perform it live to celebrate the tune’s 20th anniversary.

Twenty years ago, the song marked a viral moment at the MTV Video Music Awards when Madonna shared a kiss with both Britney and Christina Aguilera. The two recreated the viral kiss at Britney’s wedding, which took place months after her conservatorship ended in November 2021. Britney has not performed in public since her conservatorship ended.

That being said, fans are holding out hope for new music. On Thursday afternoon, a source told Page Six that Britney is “focused” on releasing a new album around the same time her memoir, “The Woman In Me,” hits stores on October 24, 2023. “Ideally, she would love to do a record and maybe a song for the book release,” one insider shared, while another noted that “She has an upcoming writers camp and is getting songs from some big artists.”

Fans are hopeful that Britney might get up on stage one more time, even if she does have “trauma” from touring. “Britney has trauma from touring,” an insider told Page Six in May 2023. “For so many years, she was handed grueling itineraries and made to perform — even before her conservatorship.”

“She still loves dancing and making music,” the source continued. “She has talked about recording again and has gotten plenty of offers, some of which she’s turned down, but it’s all about timing and picking the right projects. She’s savvy like that.” The insider added, “The beauty of Britney being free again is that she gets to call the shots for the first time in a very long time, and she’ll do it at her own pace.”

Britney has only released two songs since her conservatorship ended in November 2021: "Mind Your Business" with will.i.am and "Hold Me Closer" with Sir Elton John. Even though fans are anxious to hear more music from the pop star, it looks like Madonna is not rushing the "Stronger" singer to get back on stage before she is ready.

On Saturday, one source told The Sun that Madonna wants to support Britney through the divorce, in whatever way that means. “Madonna feels very maternal towards Britney. She has always been a rock for her behind the scenes and this is no different,” the insider divulged. “She wants Britney to know she’s not alone and anything she needs — legal support or otherwise — she is there to help.”
