Sam Asghari Sans Wedding Ring Seen Walking Britney's Dog Porsha Amid Divorce

Actor Sam Asghari is not attempting to hide from paparazzi amid his highly public divorce from Britney Spears.

The two started dating in 2016 and became engaged in 2021, only a few short weeks before a judge struck down their 13-year conservatorship. The two tied the knot in a star-studded ceremony in June 2022, but reports of trouble started almost immediately. On August 16, the "Special Ops: Lioness" actor filed for divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split.

On Monday, the 29-year-old actor was spotted taking his dog for a walk amid his divorce from the Princess of Pop, as per TMZ. This is the first time that he was seen in public since he filed for divorce last Wednesday, although the actor listed the date of separation as July 28, 2023, on the divorce filing, hinting that the split had been coming for a while.

The actor was spotted taking the couple’s Doberman, Porsha, for a walk. Sam had given Britney the dog as a gift in October 2021, only one month after he popped the question with a ring designed by jeweler Roman Malayev. Sam had reportedly been given the ring for free in order to generate publicity for the brand.

Sam took to social media to share the gift with fans. “Surprised my fiancé [sic] with our newest member to the Family. Porsha," he wrote in the caption of an Instagram video at the time.

“Her name is Porsha and she's meant to unconditionally love you,” Sam said, adding that the dog would “be trained to protect you from any motherf***er that comes around you with bad intentions.”

In addition to Porsha, Britney also adopted a blue-eyed Australian Shepherd puppy named Sawyer in February 2022, months before the couple tied the knot. She adopted the puppy in Maui, admitting that she fell in love with him almost immediately.

In the caption of an Instagram post showing off her new puppy, the pop star wrote, “Geez …. Can you have two loves of your lives because he comes in second !!!! I’m introducing the new edition to my family … his name is Sawyer and he’s a white Australian shepherd with blue eyes !!!!!”

“I found him in Maui like a dream and took him home with me immediately. It’s funny … he doesn’t talk back but it’s like he understands what I’m saying !!!” Britney wrote at the time. “I think he understands me, especially with those eyes … he makes my heart melt … he needs me and I like that !!!”

On Friday, one source told the Daily Mail that the pop star is concerned that Sam is going to try to take custody of the two dogs in the divorce. “Regarding [Britney and Sam's shared] property, the most difficult part of dividing any assets will be their two dogs,” the source explained. “But Sam gave Porsha to Britney as a present and she was the one who wanted to adopt Sawyer when they were in Maui.”

However, it looks like she is not interested in keeping the engagement ring. “Sam can have that ring. It was free from the jeweler and she doesn't want it anymore," the source added. "She has enough diamonds.”

On Wednesday night, shortly after news of the divorce broke, a source had told Page Six that the 29-year-old actor was reportedly “attempting to negotiate concessions beyond his prenup and threatening to go public with extraordinarily embarrassing information about Britney unless he gets paid.”

However, on Thursday night, a rep for the actor, Brandon Cohen, told The Hollywood Reporter that the actor had no intention of challenging the prenup. “There are many claims that Sam is challenging the prenup and threatening to exploit his ex-wife with videos,” his rep told THR. “However, all these claims are false, as no negative intention has ever been directed towards her and never will be. Sam has always and will always support her.”
