Rumer Willis Claps Back At Fan Who Slammed Breastfeeding Pic For 35th Birthday Post

If anyone thought they could silence Rumer Willis from celebrating her birthday however she chooses, they had better think again!

On August 16, the oldest daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore turned 35. For Rumer, the new age meant celebrating her growth, and her experience as a mother, since having her daughter Louetta Isle Thomas. As such, the actress shared a glimpse of her life as a mom. 

However, a fan slammed the Tv personality for opting to celebrate her birthday in that manner. Unsurprisingly, Rumer clapped back at the critic with the best response.

The “DWTS” alum commemorated a new trip around the sun with a candid photo of her on Instagram. The picture showed the birthday girl topless as she breastfed her 4-month-old daughter. 

"This is 35. Ridiculously sunburnt and feeding my Lou," Willis announced in the caption. She continued her message, recalling how she found out she was pregnant on her last birthday.

Thankfully, Willis celebrated this year’s birthday with her bundle of joy, and she couldn’t be more excited. She wrote, “To have her here now in my arms on this next trip around the I feel every birthday wish I have ever had has come true tenfold.” 

Still, in her loving message, the actress reflected on her motherhood journey, noting she experienced both “challenges and fears” alongside “joy.” Willis further wrote that she's now accepting “this new version” of herself. “I feel more comfortable in my skin. More confident than I ever imagined,” she noted. 

As expected, the heartfelt post gained attention from fans, amassing over 70k likes and several comments. One fan asked the actress “Why” she made the post. Not holding back, the “Empire” actress lashed at the critic. 

She wrote, “I really couldn’t care less what your opinion is about what you think I’m doing or why cause I know my heart and intentions, but I truly pity you cause it says so much about you and how you value and love yourself and how you value other women that this way you took the post.”

Willis continued, “Becoming a mother is a privilege; being able to breastfeed is a privilege. One I definitely don’t take for granted. So I will celebrate every sec of this journey because this is my first time doing all of this, and I honor and have the deepest reverence for all of the women who have walked this path before me.”

She concluded, “I’m sharing because things like breastfeeding need to be honored instead of shamed. I feel so sorry for you. I am the happiest I’ve ever been in my life.”  Since giving birth, the “Sorority Row” actress has been honest with her postpartum body. A few weeks ago, she posted a nude photo on her Instagram alongside a sweet caption expressing she was embracing her postpartum body. 

The caption partly read, “In the ongoing process of transformation, I am grateful for every twist and turn. My breasts might be bigger and perhaps ever so drifting downward, but what a gift and privilege that they can feed and provide nourishment for my Lou.”

For Rumer, her motherhood journey isn’t something she shies from celebrating. In May, a few weeks after Lou’s birth, Rumer marked her first Mother’s Day with candid snaps from her birth experience while also honoring her mom, Moore. 

The emotional post opened with an old Polaroid snap of Rumer as a baby sleeping peacefully in Moore’s arms. The following image on the post showed a grown-up Rumer seated in a pool of water, giving birth. The new mom leaned on her mother as she brought her child to life.

In the third picture on the post, Moore was seen holding her oldest daughter’s arms and motivating her to push. Rumer’s face was visibly in pain, and her palms were tightly pressed together, turning red from the force. 

The post ended with a more relaxed snap of the entertainer lying on the floor, with blankets draped over her. She looked like she was resting after the birth process while her mom knelt by her side, offering comfort by rubbing her exposed arm.

In the caption, the “Striptease” actress celebrated her mom, writing, “To be able to celebrate this day with you is beyond words, the privilege to walk in this path of motherhood with you by my side to support and guide me is something I have only dreamed of.”

She added, “Thank you for holding the most beautiful space for me as I made the transition from maiden to mother. Thank you for helping me walk through and rise to the occasion to have the birth I dreamed of.
