When the internet got word that Kevin Ford worked at Burger King in Las Vegas, Nevada for 27 years without missing a single day and all he got from the company was a goodie bag, many people wanted to make his day brighter.
A GoFundMe page was started in June 2022 by Ford's daughter Seryna and has exceeded the goal multiple times. And Ford is grateful for it all!
Kevin Ford Hasn't Missed A Single Shift At Burger King In 27 Years
A TikTok video shared by Ford back in June 2022 showed what his company gave him for their appreciation to his dedication of 27 years of work without missing a day.
"I've worked here 27 years, and I've never missed not one day of work, never even called out," Ford said in the video. He then showed what his company gave him as a reward for his hard work. In the drawstring back, he pulled out a movie ticket, bag of Reese's Pieces, some Life Savers, pens, lanyard, keychains and a cup. Throughout the entire video, he kept a positive, upbeat attitude.
He ended his video by saying, "This is my reward for working 27 years. Thank you guys," and gives two thumbs up.
Many people dropped into the comment section to leave their thoughts on what Ford received for his hard work and to support him during such a great milestone.
"You deserve a lot more for your time and dedication 🙏,a big promotion and a big raise would be a nice start. I wish you the best, 🤩👍🥇" one person wrote.
Another added, "That's awesome. You don't see that kind of work ethic hardly any where anymore. Stay up you're awesome dude."
One follower said, "Deserves so much more," and many others agreed with that statement.
Kevin Ford's Daughter Started A GoFundMe Page
Ford's daughter, Seryna, started a GoFundMe fundraiser in the hopes of raising some money for her hardworking father. She couldn't have realized at that moment just how far this fundraiser would go. She had to increase the goal multiple times due to such overwhelming support.
"Hi, My name is Seryna. The man in that video is my father. He has worked at his job for 27 years and yes, he has never missed a day of work. He originally began working at this job as a single father when he gained custody of me and my older sister 27 years ago. Then as our family grew and he remarried, he continued to work there because of the amazing health insurance that was provided through this employer because it was unionized. This got all four of his daughters through high school and college with full healthcare coverage," the fundraising page reads.
"My dad continues to work there, because though he does look young, he is coming up on retirement age and leaving would cost him his retirement. In no way are we asking for money or is he expecting any money but if anyone feels like blessing him he would love to visit his grandchildren."
Many strangers from near and far flocked to the fundraising page to share their gratitude and leave a donation for Ford. Actor David Spade donated $5,000 and reached out to Ford to offer him some tickets to his Vegas show.
Many others also donated to the cause and the total is currently at $425,861!
