Khadijah Haqq Opens Up About 'Intensely Difficult' Split From Bobby McCray After Four Kids

Khadijah Haqq McCray is getting candid about leaving her ex-husband Bobby McCray whom she was married to for over a decade.

The duo also share four children, including Bobby Louis McCray III, 19 —from Bobby's past relationship — Christian Louis McCray, 13; Celine Amelia McCray, 9; and Kapri Naomi McCray, 2. 

News of their split comes two years after they welcomed their last born, and Khadijah could not hide her distress in speaking about the "tremendous transition" of moving forward with her life without Bobby.

The Dash boutique co-manager recently shared a lengthy message on Instagram announcing her separation from the former professional football player.  She began, "Now more than ever, I have been relying on prayer. Family is so important to me; unfortunately, life has brought me to tremendous transition."

She continued, "After 13 years of marriage, 16 years together and 4 incredible children, I have come to the intensely difficult conclusion that while Bobby & I have a great deal of love for one [another], it's best we move forward separately."

The "Sky High" actress explained that the decision was not taken lightly, adding that she mostly kept her relationship away from the public eye for the "benefit of our family." Concluding the statement, Khadijah confessed that she publicized the split not because of attention but to be candid while she and Bobby moved on with their lives. In her words:

"I share this not because I believe it's newsworthy – But so that we go about our lives with honesty and to begin the journey of co-parenting. I'm so grateful for my incredible support system!"

The Instagram post gained over 16k likes in two hours, and fans could unfortunately not voice their support for the star in the comments section as it was turned off.  Two years before calling it quits on their marriage, PEOPLE confirmed the birth of their third child Kapri after Khadijah shared news of her conception on Instagram.

She posted a photo at the time featuring the McCrays' hands with the then-newborn's tiny arm and captioned, "We love you, baby girl, you complete our family! When 5 becomes 6." The comments section was filled with congratulatory remarks from enthusiastic supporters, including a few public figures like Ashlee Simpson Ross, Tamar Braxton, and Christina Milian.

Ross raved, "Congrats to your beautiful family," followed by Braxton, who enthused, "Praise God, I'm so grateful." Similarly, Milian added, "Now that is awesome. Congratulations!"Prior to the former "Dash Dolls" star's delivery date, she unveiled the sex of her baby using an Instagram pic of herself cradling her baby bump from her virtual baby shower. 

She also hinted that the baby would be named "Baby Kapri." Khadijah, who was over the moon about her pregnancy, was also glad to share the milestone with her twin sister Malika Haqq who welcomed her son Ace Flores five months prior with ex-boyfriend O.T. Genasis. 

The "ATL" actress admittedly did not realize until her sister got pregnant how long she had waited to share that with her, and she looked forward to seeing their kids bond over the years.

Earlier in May, Khadijah's sister Malika opened up about getting a boob job after an unidentified blackmailer threatened to expose her for money.

The 40-year-old took to her Instagram Story with three topless photos highlighting her fuller bosom alongside a brazen remark directed at the extortionist.

She also covered her nipples with star emojis considering people's "sensitivity" before captioning the post, "This post is for the loser f**k who is trying to extort me for money. You can stop sending these weak ass photos around."

The reality star did not stop there but declared her pride in "my breast job" before maintaining that she would not give a "dime" to the assailant.
