Britney Spears Reportedly ‘Very Angry’ At Mom, Sister Amid Sam Asghari Divorce

It looks like pop star Britney Spears is still isolated amid reports that her husband, Sam Asghari, has filed for divorce.
Although it seemed that she was starting to reconcile with her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, and her mother, Lynne Spears, it looks like the pop star still feels "very angry" toward her family after the alleged abuse she suffered during her conservatorship, which lasted from February 2008 to November 2021.
Britney Spears Reported Not ‘On Good Terms’ With Mom, Lynne Spears, Or Sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, Amid Sam Asghari Divorce
Unfortunately, it looks like the “Mind Your Business” singer is no closer to reconciling with her family, even after her husband, Sam Asghari, filed for divorce. The Iranian actor reportedly believes that Britney has cheated on him, but those allegations have not been confirmed. According to the divorce documents, the actor cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split and listed July 28, 2023, as the official date of separation, revealing that trouble had been brewing for weeks.
It looks like the pop star does not have much family to rely on during this difficult time, however. Despite her own admission that she had visited her sister on the set of “Zoey 102” in June, it looks like Britney and Jamie Lynn are still estranged. Even though her mother traveled from Louisiana to Los Angeles to visit her daughter at her Thousand Oaks estate in May, it appears that they are not on good terms just yet either.
On Thursday morning, a source told Page Six that the “Hold Me Closer” singer is still not “on good terms with her family” despite meeting up with them earlier this summer. “Her meeting with her mom, went OK, but there’s still a lot of hurt there, so they haven’t quite reconciled,” the insider said. “Britney is still very angry with Jamie Lynn, too.”
The insider called the pop star “isolated, especially now without Sam,” but said that she is “hanging in there, all things considered.” Another insider told the outlet that Britney was actually lying about visiting her sister on the set of “Zoey 102,” although it is unclear why the pop star would lie about the meeting taking place.
Does Jamie Lynn Spears 'Like' The Fact That Her Sister Is Getting A Divorce?
On Wednesday night, podcast host Amanda Hirsch shared a screenshot on her Instagram Stories that featured an Instagram post from People magazine. The headline read: “Britney Spears and Husband Sam Asghari Separate After 14 Months of Marriage: Sources.” The news of their separation was announced mere hours before it was revealed that Sam had already filed for divorce.
Along with the headline was a screenshot of Jamie Lynn appearing to "like" the post, although it looks like she has since taken down her "like." It is unclear if she liked the post accidentally, or simply thought better of it, but Amanda reacted with an "Omg" that matched the reaction of many fans.
Do Britney Spears and Her Family Have Bad Blood Over Her New Memoir?
The pop star’s highly anticipated memoir “The Woman In Me” is scheduled for release this October, but sources told The Sun that the “Toxic” singer has not been upfront with her family about what she wrote about them in her book. An insider told the outlet that Britney “has not told her mom, Lynne, the full extent of what is written about their family and past dramas in her upcoming memoir. Lynne is unaware of the entirety of the subject matters covered by her daughter, despite the couple talking again.”
“Britney has kept her cards close to her chest about what is in the memoir,” the source continued. “She has been chomping at the bit to present her experiences of becoming famous and what role her parents played – and Lynne is being kept in the dark about what Britney will say about their relationship.” Sources say that her publicist at Simon and Schuster have also warned Britney to “keep her talk about her experiences in the book just to those closest in her life.”
However, it appears that the pop star did not shy away from discussing her family in her upcoming book. “Britney doesn’t want to sugarcoat her tough family dynamics. For almost two decades Britney feels that her parents have run the narrative about her life, and now it’s her turn to put her version out to the world,” the source warned.
“Britney made it clear to her mother that she wants to have her version of her life put out publicly after so long seeing others talking about her," they added. "However just where it leaves the mother and daughter relationship after the book release is still to be determined.”
"The Woman In Me" will be released on October 24, 2023.
