Is Jamie Lynn Spears happy to see that her older sister, pop star Britney Spears, and her husband, Sam Asghari, are going their separate ways?
On Wednesday, the Iranian actor filed for divorce citing "irreconcilable differences," listing the date of separation as late July. Although their marriage has faced reports of trouble for a while, their relationship reportedly came to an end following allegations that the pop star had cheated on her husband. Those allegations have not been confirmed.
Many users took to social media in order to express support for the pop star, who seemed unbothered by the divorce when she took to Instagram on Wednesday night to talk about buying a horse. Sources have said that Britney has been getting support from her family and friends, and it looks like that just might include her estranged sister, Jamie Lynn Spears.

Podcast host Amanda Hirsch took to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday night to share a screenshot of an Instagram post revealing a People magazine article with the headline “Britney Spears and Husband Sam Asghari Separate After 14 Months of Marriage: Sources.” The news was announced only hours before multiple other outlets confirmed that Sam had already filed for divorce.
In the lower right corner of the page, Amanda attached a screenshot that showed that Britney’s younger sister, “Zoey 102” star Jamie Lynn Spears had “liked” the post. However, when The Blast went to independently verify the “like,” it had been removed. It is possible that Jamie Lynn liked the post accidentally, or liked the post and then thought better of it.
Either way, Amanda chimed in with the reactions of most on social media who might have seen the like, writing, “Omg.”
Friends and Family Are ‘Rallying’ Around Britney Amid Shocking Split
On Wednesday night, ET, who was the first to report news of the divorce, revealed that Britney had friends and family members who were “rallying” around her in the wake of her impending divorce. “She has been trying to get back on her feet and be healthy emotionally, physically, and mentally. Britney has people by her side and her immediate circle is there for her,” the source claimed. “They are rallying around her.”
The insider alleged that the pop star “has not been doing well,” especially after allegations that she had cheated on Sam. She’s adamant she didn’t cheat. The two haven’t got along for a while and it finally came to an end after a major blowup,” the source said, adding, “She has been denying any cheating allegations and going through a lot of emotions.”
“She is hurt because the situation brings up old feelings for her. This is the last thing she needed, especially after her boys moved to Hawaii, being worried about the fires there, and so on,” they added. Her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, moved to Hawaii on August 1, taking Britney's two teenage sons with him after she formally gave her consent to the move.

In June, Britney shared a video on Instagram that featured her dancing in front of her husband in a pink bikini. She can later be seen dancing with her manager, Cade Hudson. In the caption of this Instagram post, she revealed that it was the first vacation that she took with her husband in a year.
However, fans were quick to note that, in the very beginning of her caption, she talked about her estranged sister, Jamie Lynn Spears. “It was nice to visit my sister on set last week !!! I’ve missed you guys so much !!! Loyal girls stay home but it’s so nice to visit family ? !!!” she wrote at the time.
The news that she was reuniting with her sister came shortly after reports that she had reconciled with her mother, Lynne Spears. In June 2023, the Daily Mail alleged that Britney's mother “will not rest” until the two have made amends. “Lynne is begging Britney to make amends with her sister Jamie Lynn now,” the insider revealed. “They are both leaning towards a yes. Lynne knows that Britney does miss her sister and she told her that the feeling is obviously mutual.”
It looks like Britney has indeed made amends with her sister and her mother and fans are glad to see it, as Britney is going to need support from her family now more than ever as Sam is reportedly "threatening to go public with extraordinarily embarrassing information about Britney."
