Carmelo Anthony is battling it out in court with a woman who claims the NBA star stalked her and kidnapped her children ... which he, of course, claims in utter nonsense.

Anthony submitted a declaration in response to a temporary restraining order filed against him by a woman named Cheryl (The Blast is choosing to leave out her last name since it appears the woman has mental health issues).

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Anthony claims to have never met the woman and calls her allegations "very strange." Anthony says "it would be good if Cheryl ... could get professional help."

He adds, "My hope is that the court in Santa Monica can recognize that this is a situation in which Cheryl ... is unstable and confused and needs help, and is not a situation in which there is any factual basis or need for a restraining order."

In her original filing, Cheryl made a number of disturbing allegations, including claiming Carmelo Anthony threatened to shoot her and her family because she did not want to be in a relationship with him anymore.

Cheryl's temporary restraining order was actually granted until a hearing, which went down yesterday. But Anthony was not able to quash it because the court ruled that his declaration was "faulty" because it lacked a date.

A new hearing was scheduled for later this month and the order remains in place until then.
