Dave Portnoy Issued An Apology To Bobbi Althoff For Doing 'Her Dirty'

After some creative editing happened to make a statement appear way worse than it actually was, Dave Portnoy of the BFFs Podcast issued a public statement to Bobbi Althoff for doing "her dirty."

When discussing Althoff's recent situation with Drake, how they both unfollowed each other and their viral interview being removed from the internet, Portnoy said he asked Althoff in a DM if what he's hearing about Althoff's relationship with Drake is true. After the clip was edited and things blew up, Portnoy wanted to clear the air and shared his unedited DMs with Althoff with his social media followers.

In a series of Instagram Stories and a TikTok video, Portnoy shares the backstory to the now deleted clip that was edited in a way that made fans speculate that Althoff and Drake had an affair.

"I owe @bobbialthoff an apology. She's been in the news about her and @drake unfollowing each other after doing a pod together. All sorts of rumors about it. I asked her about it directly. She answered directly. Our social media team edited the clip to make it seem juicy which is bullsh**. I freaked out on Austin the second I saw it. We did her dirty," the first Instagram Story slide reads.

He then shared a screenshot of the DMs between him and Althoff. At the top of the screenshot, Althoff added, "I did not want to do this podcast in the first place, and now so much negativity is coming from it. I'm going to leave it alone after this but this is the uncensored dm between Dave and I."

The following Instagram Story slide was the edited clip and then he shared the unedited clip of the conversation.

The following slide was a screenshot of a text between Portnoy and Austin where Austin wrote, "Got it. Also all the Bobbi clips are down. Obviously way too little too late but I am sorry for what is a massive f***up on my part and I recognize I made you look like an a**hole and put you in an impossible spot."

Portnoy replied, "It is what it is. We'll move on. There is still morality in our world. Like you can't just make people look like jacka**es.

Portnoy then shared a screenshot of more DMs between him and Althoff.

A video shared on BFFs Pod TikTok's page sums up the Instagram Stories in one video with clips from the edited and unedited versions of the conversation.

The video is captioned, "The full context of what happened with the @Bobbi and Drake clip. Apologies are in order to Bobbi," and has received more than 1.1 million views in just a few hour's time. 

Many viewers dropped into the comments to leave their thoughts.

"The twist I was not anticipating," one follower wrote. Another added, "I’m glad this was posted because you did do her dirty… she’s up-and-coming, and you guys are huge. It’s unnecessary."

Comments were a mixed bag of siding with Portnoy and calling him out for what he did.

"Good on Dave for fixing this but not cool that he did so by publicly humiliating his employee. Constantly making Austin the scapegoat for his fu** ups," one person wrote.

"It’s a little unbelievable that you didn’t watch or listen to a finalized episode before releasing it. Blame who you want, none of it sits right, though," wrote another follower.

One person shared a publicity stunt theory saying, "This is a great media scam for PR; even Dave is in on it. He’s probs about to sign her pod to Barstool."
