Peta Murgatroyd Says 'If It Happens It Happens' On Having Another Child

Peta Murgatroyd is not opposed to having another child.

Even though she already has two kids with her husband, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, the youngest arriving in June 2023, the professional Latin dancer has opened up about the possibility of having more. The conversation came up during a question and answer that she held with her nearly one million followers on Wednesday.

Amid struggling with infertility, which resulted in the recent arrival of her second child, Rio Joy Chmerkovskiy, Murgatroyd said she would not mind having a third bundle of joy. Shortly after she instructed her fans to ask her anything, one of them "Would you want to try for another baby?"

Sharing her response in a video showing her wearing a gray long-sleeve shirt, the mom-of-two began, "I would so have another one. Hopefully, we get a girl." She added, "If it happens, it happens, and that would be amazing."

When a second netizen asked how long it took the "Dancing with the Stars" performer and her husband to "try before doing IVF," she explained, "We basically tried for two years. I had three miscarriages, and one failed IVF. I really thought the IVF was gonna work, but [it] didn't. Then, [I] got pregnant naturally the month after I stopped IVF. Isn't that always the way?"

While her revelation might shock some, it would not be the first time that Murgatroyd would hint at the idea of more kids. According to a June report from The Blast, the 2002 W.A. Amateur Latin State Champion and her beau had jokingly touched on the subject while having the time of their lives in a video.

The clip, which came with the words, "My husband right after I give birth," written across the screen, showed Chmerkovskiy lip-syncing with a pre-recorded soundtrack. His silent declaration, "Do you think we need more? You think we need one more," prompted his wife to look up from her phone in bewilderment.

Shortly after, the third-place Blackpool Dance Festival Youth Under 21 Latin competitor is spotted on a hospital bed, ready to pop her second baby. What came next was a voice saying, "Alright, we'll get one more," causing the "Faith, Hope & Love" actress to throw her head back. In the caption, she penned:

"@maksimc literally straight after birth ? Anyone else [experienced] this? Lol #anotherone #familyoffour ?."

The hilarious yet candid update resonated with numerous people, including Murgatroyd's fellow superstars and fans, who shared their takes in the comments. While a fan wrote, "My husband asked for one more an hour after we found out we were having our third girl lol," choreographer Jenna Johnson typed, "Literally Val as I pushed Rome out…?."

A second fan joked, "That does not surprise me. It's that new baby high. He'll come to his senses soon enough. ?," and a third chimed, "When I was leaving the hospital, my husband said to the nurse pushing my wheelchair, "See you next year."

When Chmerkovskiy and Murgatroyd are not publicizing their intent to welcome a third child, they commemorate significant milestones. For example, last month, they took out time to declare their undying love and admiration for each other during their sixth wedding anniversary.

The Blast noted that Chmerkovskiy had led the effusive celebration by uploading an image from their wedding day of him. In the pic, the Ukraine-born dance instructor held his bride's face in his hands, admiring her features lovingly. Beneath the adorable shot, he stated:

"Happy anniversary, my love! Easily the absolute best decision I’ve ever made, and I would marry you everyday of my life for as long as I shall …..you know the rest :). I love you infinitely more today than on our wedding day and can’t even fathom how that’s possible because I clearly remember bursting with love when you walked towards me."

After that, he thanked Murgatroyd for "choosing" him and "making us a house full of kids, pets, plants, and infinite love." Similarly, the "Burn the Floor" showed off her deep feelings for her man, posting extra photos from their wedding day, including a sweet one of them locking lips under a rainbow at sunset. She claimed in her caption:

"Love of my life @maksimc. Happy Anniversary, my favorite human…6 years married 10 years together. You're without a doubt my best friend on planet earth, my love for you is infinite. ❤️."
