Sam Asghari Reportedly Threatening To Share ‘Embarrassing’ Info About Britney Spears Amid Split

It looks like the split between actor Sam Asghari and singer Britney Spears is about to be anything but cordial.
On Wednesday, August 16, multiple outlets reported that the two were going their separate ways. The two met on the set of her “Slumber Party” music video in 2016. He proposed in September 2021, only two months before her conservatorship ended in November 2021. The two tied the knot in a star-studded ceremony at her Thousand Oaks estate in June 2022, but their relationship has faced nothing but reports of trouble since that time.
Even though Britney reportedly signed a prenup to protect her assets ahead of the divorce, it looks like the Iranian actor is looking to renegotiate the contract and is threatening to spill her secrets if he doesn’t get what he wants.
Sam Asghari Reportedly Threatens To Share ‘Extraordinarily Embarrassing Information’ About Britney Spears Unless She Renegotiates Their Prenup
On Wednesday afternoon, TMZ was the first to report that the couple was going their separate ways amid allegations of infidelity. Sam has apparently moved out of the home, with one source telling the outlet, “It’s only a matter of time before Sam files for divorce.” Sam reportedly believes a rumor that the pop star was unfaithful to him, but it is unclear if there is any truth to these rumors.
Later on Wednesday night, a source told Page Six that Sam is going to want a sizeable settlement from the divorce in exchange for keeping his silence on some embarrassing information about Britney. The 29-year-old actor is reportedly “attempting to negotiate concessions beyond his prenup and threatening to go public with extraordinarily embarrassing information about Britney unless he gets paid.”
“So that’s what Sam is focused on,” they added, although reps for both Sam and Britney have yet to return a request for comment. Another source confirmed to Page Six that “Britney and Sam signed a prenup in her favor,” adding, “Any money she made before the wedding is protected.” The “Stronger” singer had her attorney, Matthew Rosengart, hire a family lawyer to draft the prenup.
Another source told Page Six later on Wednesday night that the pop star had hired high-power divorce lawyer Laura Wasser amid the separation.
Britney Spears and Sam Asghari Separate After 14 Months Of Marriage
On Wednesday night, sources for People magazine also confirmed that the couple had officially separated. There had been reports that the couple had been on the rocks for a while. Earlier this year, they were photographed out and about without their wedding rings, although a rep for the actor told the magazine that he took the ring off because he was filming a movie.
Sam has played a big part in Britney’s life even before her conservatorship ended. In April 2019, a source for the family told the publication, "There is no question that Sam is great for Britney. He has a very positive influence on her. He is very motivated to stay healthy and fit, and they often work out together."
During the #FreeBritney movement, Sam was also active on social media to support his then-girlfriend. "Sam has been Britney's rock for years. He makes sure that she eats well and works out," a source told People in June 2021. "She leans on him for everything. He works and has his own life too, but is around as much as he can."
When her conservatorship ended in November 2021, Sam said that he was looking forward to a “normal” future with the pop star. "I have always wanted nothing but the best for my better half, and will continue to support her in following her dreams and creating the future she wants and deserves," he said at the time. "I am thankful for all of the love and support she is receiving from her fans all over the world, and I am looking forward to a normal, amazing future together."
Their marriage also had ups and downs that played out over social media over the past year. Although they celebrated various holidays together, Britney deleted her Valentine’s Day tribute to the actor and claimed that her husband thought she had “gone bonkers” due to her new love of meditation.
Neither Britney nor Sam has commented on the split on social media, although fans have been vocally supporting the singer on X, formerly known as Twitter.
