Nene Leakes Faces Lawsuit Over Alleged Unpaid Rent For Her Former Boutique

Reality TV star Nene Leakes finds herself at the center of a legal battle over unpaid rent for her Swagg Boutique.

The store, which had gained popularity for its stylish women's clothing and accessories, has become the subject of scrutiny due to the alleged failure to meet rental obligations before she vacated the property in 2022.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the former "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star is being sued for allegedly falling behind on rental payments for her Swagg boutique's prime location.

The legal complaint, filed by her former landlord at her store location in Sugarloaf Mills, asserts that the celebrity entrepreneur owed $22,900 in unpaid rent before she vacated the premises in January 2022. Her former landlord said that she first signed the lease agreement in 2017 and extended it for another year in 2021 but didn't pay up the balance owed under the lease.

According to the news outlet, the landlord reached out to her last month for her to make good on the issue, but she reportedly didn't honor it. The landlord is now suing her for damages to cover the rent and the attorney fees incurred.

In a candid and emotional interview on Carlos King's "Reality With The King" podcast, she shared her struggles as a mother and how helpless she feels about his battle with addiction, per People magazine.

Bryant was arrested early last month and jailed in the Gwinnett County Jail on a $6,100. He faced multiple charges, including violation of probation in two cases, possession of a scheduled II controlled substance, loitering/prowling, and giving a false name, address, or birthdate.

"I spoke to him on the phone, I think he's doing OK," she said about his welfare before revealing that he has an issue with drugs and was arrested after the cops found "a small plastic bag that contained a white powdery substance."

"He needs rehabilitation," she admitted. "He needs a lot of counseling. Like many families out there, I have family members that are struggling with drugs and certain addictions. He has an addiction. He's been struggling with it for years. He's been in rehab for a couple of times, and he still has come back out and relapsed."

She went on to note there's nothing she can do in the phase of his struggle with addiction until he decides to pick up after himself and make a change first.

Nene recently revealed that she and her boyfriend of over a year, Nyonisela Sioh, are taking a break from their relationship.

The announcement came last month during her appearance on Carlos King's "Reality With The King" podcast, leaving fans and followers speculating about the reasons behind the decision.

"Today, we are taking a break. We've been taking a break. It's things I'm not happy with, things he's not happy with. It's just not working at the moment," she said, per Daily Mail.
