Shannen Doherty Seen Enjoying Vacation In Italy Amid Cancer Battle & Contentious Divorce

Cancer is not stopping Shannen Doherty from living her best life!

The "Little House on the Prairie" actress, battling brain and breast cancer, took a break from her ongoing treatment to jet off to Italy for a vacation with friends.

The much-needed getaway comes after she revealed that she underwent surgery to remove a tumor, confirmed to be brain metastases, from her head. 

Doherty's cancer diagnosis and treatments appeared to be the last thing on her mind as she danced and enjoyed drinks with her pals during a Monday lunch outing in Nerano, Italy. On Monday, the "Charmed" actress was captured wearing a black one-piece swimsuit with red bottoms, stylish sunglasses, and a chic fedora hat. 

The 52-year-old was also seen laughing with abandon with a male friend while enjoying a boat ride, per Page Six. As mentioned above, this vacation follows the superstar's earlier revelation this summer that her breast cancer had progressed to her brain. 

Announcing the devastating news, the "Beverly Hills, 90210" star shared a clip of herself preparing for radiation therapy, having received the distressing diagnosis in January. She shared via the caption:

"January 12, 2023. On January 5th, my ct scan showed Mets in my brain. Yesterdays video was showing the process of getting fitted for the mask which you wear during radiation to your brain. January 12, the first round of radiation took place."

After pointing out that her "fear is obvious," Doherty added, "I am extremely claustrophobic, and a lot was going on in my life. I am fortunate to have great doctors like Dr. Amin Mirahdi and the amazing techs at cedar sinai. But that fear…. The turmoil….. the timing of it all…. This is what cancer can look like."

Upon seeing the video, numerous fans took to the comment section to express their support and admiration for her courage in openly sharing her challenges. One fan gushed, "Thank you for sharing; you are a powerhouse! It must be terrifying! Hope you can feel the strength and love the fans send you."

Referring to her recent divorce from her third husband, Kurt Iswarienko, a second person commented, "You are one brave, strong woman. Devastated your husband betrayed you? Keep fighting your cancer. Sending love and best wishes your way."

Another fan added, "We love you so much Shannen. We're with you. Unending support for you as you continue to share your journey. I wish I could personally take away the fear and whatever pain you experience at times. Much love to you." 

Amid her health battle, the actress is knee-deep in a contentious divorce battle that began in April after she expressed her desire to end her Marriage with Iswarienko and initiated the legal process.

In a statement issued by her representative at the time, the star stated that even though divorce was the last thing she intended to pursue, her former partner had left her "with no other option." 

She further alleged that the photographer and his agent were "intimately involved." As for the divorce filing, the Bravo Otto winner listed the month of separation as January and cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the breakup.

Following the divorce news turning into significant headlines, the "Highway to Heaven" performer penned a message many of her fans believe was related to the occurrence. She stated, "The only people who deserve to be in your life are the ones who treat you with love, kindness, and total respect."

Finally responding to the divorce filing last month, Iswarienko listed their wedding date as October 15, 2011, meaning they had just completed 11 years of Marriage before the devastating split. Unlike his ex-wife, the cameraman skipped over listing their separation date and ticked the "yes" box regarding attorney fees and costs being split by him and Doherty. 

The end of the Marriage shocked many fans as they expected it to be the "happily ever after" their favorite Hollywood star had always wanted. Just before she walked down the aisle with Iswarienko, the "Sleeping with the Devil" alum highlighted the seriousness of her taking the marital vows for the third time.

She says, "Marriage to me is such a gigantic commitment that it's not something I'd ever go into lightly anymore. I've learned my lesson."
