Taylor Swift's fans are no strangers to doing 'the lord's work,' if it helps out their queen!

Late last week, 'Swifties' took to social media to elevate one of the 33-year-old's fan-favorite tracks as of late; fans brought the "Lover" track "Cruel Summer" to trending status on X in a campaign to get the track to the Billboard Hot 100 Chart.

On Saturday, The Blast looked at the fan conversation surrounding the second song off of "Lover." A few days later, "Cruel Summer" has reached a particular milestone- but not the one you might think!

"Cruel Summer" has made its way into pop culture over the last year with its inclusion on the soundtrack to "The Summer I Turned Pretty," the Amazon Prime adaptation of Jenny Han's hit young adult romance book series.

Swift Acknowledges The 'Cruel Summer' Renaissance During A Recent 'Eras Tour' Show

The "Karma" singer recently spoke to the audience at a recent 'Eras Tour' stop about her appreciation for "Cruel Summer."

She would tell the Pittsburgh audience, "The weirdest, most magical thing is happening... it's never happened to me the whole time I've been doing this," Swift explained. "'Cruel Summer' is a song I just played a second ago; I don't know if you remember. We had a blast, yeah? The one where we all screamed," she continued.

"Cruel Summer" was on the 'Lover' album. That album came out four years ago," Swift explained. "And I just need to tell you something: 'Cruel Summer,' that song was my pride and joy on that album. "You have conversations before the album comes out. Everybody around weighs in on what they think should be singles. I was finally about to have my favorite song become the single- off of 'Lover,'' she revealed.

"I'm not trying to blame the global pandemic that we had," Swift went on. "but that is something that happened from 'Cruel Summer' from ever becoming a single. No one understands how this is happening, but you guys have streamed 'Cruel Summer' so much in 2023..."

She would later thank the fans for contributing to the song's newfound success. (per Billboard)

'Cruel Summer's Success Has A Fan Campaign To Thank For Its Chart Growth!

Fans have channeled their love for "Cruel Summer" into uncharted territory! Swifties took to X late last week once again to elevate its chart position.

Swift fan accounts posted supporting streaming "Cruel Summer" in hopes of the song hitting number one on the Billboard charts. According to our coverage, Taylor Swift Facts shared a graphic with things fans can do to make the magic happen! Requesting the song on radio stations and streaming the track were two suggestions to boost the song's exposure. When this article was published, "Cruel Summer" held the fourth position on the Billboard Hot 100.

As of Tuesday, August 15th, "Cruel Summer' has jumped up one spot! Even though Swifties didn't get their wish, the track did achieve a huge milestone! The song hit the number one on Spotify's United States Top 50 chart!

A fan posted, "Congratulations to on the incredible achievement of "Cruel Summer" reaching on US Spotify! Your music continues to captivate and inspire us all. Keep shining bright!"

Another wrote, "Cruel summer, anti-hero and style were all stable on global Spotify and august gaining!"
