Bella & Gigi Hadid's Older Sister Alana Follows In Their Runway Steps At 40

Modeling runs in the Hadid family, as Alana Hadid proves with her runway debut.

Alana is the older half-sister of supermodels Gigi and Bella Hadid from their father Mohammed Hadid's first marriage to Mary Butler.

Walking the runway for the first time was a massive feat for the Instagram sensation, and she took to social media to announce using memorable highlights from the show alongside a note of appreciation.

Alana marked her runway debut in Denmark, working with the Copenhagen brand Saks Potts. She revealed so on Instagram, exclaiming, "Core memory made in Denmark with @sakspotts ?? my first runway!"

She also appreciated the founders who allowed her to open the runway show. In her words, "Thank you @barbarapotts @cathrinesaks ??️✨what a way to arrive to Copenhagen, opening for the most amazing brand… in the rain."

Alongside the message were ten photos from the event, beginning with a view of the July-born being photographed against a white background. She wore a loose blue button-up shirt and loose white ribbed pants.

The second slide displayed a Saks Potts shopping bag with Alana's name scribbled on it, while the following fall featured a hair stylist sweeping the model's hair up in a dressing room.

In the fourth image, Alana was surrounded by several other runway models, all wearing yellow button-up shirts. The fifth snap showed an unidentified individual unveiling a new tattoo on her ankle while fans could see her outfit's details for the show in the sixth slide.

It comprised a glimmering blue skirt over denim pants and a beige blazer over a tiny white-string top. The seventh slide showcased the 40-year-old behind the scenes, surrounded by fellow creatives prepping her to open the show.

In the eighth slide, she strutted without fault on the runway — an open road by the sea, while in the following image, Alana posed on the runway with a severe expression. Concluding the carousel was a video of her with Nadine Matar expressing excitement over successfully opening the show and marking her first runway walk. 

Fans only had good words for the fashion designer in the comments section, with one proclaiming, "So sweet, cute, and beautiful!!! I always thought you were a runway model back when we worked together ?❤️??."

An ensuing comment read, "Turn 40 become a runway model," before a fellow admirer gushed, "Proud is an understatement!!! So incredibly cool ? you're stunning." One more supportive comment read, "? This is so fabulously awesome!!!!! Congratulations! Three Hadid Supermodels!!!!⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Yayyyyyy!!!!!!” 

Modeling is not the only thing that runs in the Hadid family, as the siblings also have a knack for fashion. Alana discussed the subject with Grazia in 2019 while touching on her relationship with her supermodel sisters.

She maintained that they are "pretty normal" folks who would rather "eat takeout and watch Netflix than go out." The fashion expert also mentioned that Gigi and Bella's success never hindered their bond.

"Regardless of Gigi and Bella's fame and their hard work, we are just sisters. We go shopping, do a little cooking and have a group chat. We do all the things that sisters do," she explained.

She noted, "'My sister [Marielle] is in fashion, and Gigi and Bella and my brother Anwar. It's in the genes.'" Alana added that she and her sisters, who swap clothes all the time, "are protective and supportive of each other" and ensure to remain "so close" despite the fame.

As for if her sister's fame put pressure on her, the 40-year-old bag designer declared, "'m not in competition with my sisters or brother. We all have an innate work ethic, and I feel successful – I do many things that people perhaps don't know about, as do my sisters. Being famous is not being a success."

Although Alana's half-sisters Gigi and Bella are reputable models, their path was paved by their mother, Yolanda Hadid, who was once signed to Ford Models.

Yolanda married her daughters' father in 1994 and separated in 2000. Alongside Gigi and Bella, the ex-couple has a son Anwar Hadid. 

Before the real estate developer married Yolanda, he tied the knot with Mary Butler, which produced Alana and her older sister Marielle. He was also in a relationship with Shiva Safai from 2014 to 2019. 

Compared to Alana, Gigi, and Bella, Marielle owns a business called Living Well with Marielle, which is pretty private but has disclosed that she has two kids and is dating Jack Halloran.
