Terry Dubrow Suffers A Transient Medical Emergency
Dr. Terry Dubrow found himself in an unexpected situation last week at The Ivy in Los Angeles. During a family dinner with his wife, Heather Dubrow, and son Nick, Terry suddenly began to experience some difficulty and began "slurring his speech," per TMZ.
Although the shocking episode lasted less than a minute, Heather urged their son to call 911. However, Terry, who insisted he was feeling fine, was slightly annoyed by the decision. After checking his vitals, Paramedics arrived and determined Terry's condition to be stable.
Despite their assessment, Heather, 54, remained uneasy and insisted on a hospital visit. But the plastic surgeon declined the offer and arranged for a car to take him home.
Heather Dubrow Insists On A Medical Check Terry
According to the news outlet, Heather reached out to some of Terry's "doctor buddies," who were able to persuade the couple to head to the hospital despite Terry's initial reluctance.
Following a series of medical assessments, the doctors concluded that Terry had experienced a transient ischemic attack (TIA), a brief stroke-like incident stemming from a momentary disruption of blood supply to a part of the brain, as described by the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke.
Amid the assessment, the medical team also uncovered an unexpected detail: Terry had a patent foramen ovale (PFO), a hole between the heart's left and right chambers that allowed a blood clot to transverse through, making its way to Terry's brain, thus triggering the TIA episode. If the doctor's PFO had gone undiagnosed, it could have resulted in a "full-blown stroke." So, Terry has his wife to thank for insisting on him going to the hospital.
Terry Dubrow Is Doing 'Great'
Following the health scare, a source shared with Page Six that the doctor was doing "great."
They said, "He believes that Heather saved his life, and he's still gushing about her," adding that "she was being an incredible health advocate for someone she loves."
Fortunately, medical intervention successfully addressed his heart condition. The insider confirmed that the acclaimed plastic surgeon is now in excellent condition, displaying no impairments and full of vigor.
The source also emphasized that Terry appreciates the attention this story is receiving, as it helps raise awareness. He hopes others will learn from his experience and assertively address health concerns like his wife did.
"He's being completely transparent because he's a doctor, and he's dedicated his life to helping other people and shifted his entire practice to helping people," the source added.

Just last month, the Dubrows made a significant real estate move. Sources revealed that the reality TV power couple has successfully acquired the 9,000 sq. ft. Beverly Hills mansion of the late filmmaker Dino De Laurentiis, nestled on 8.2 acres of land.
This acquisition marks the latest entry in their growing property portfolio, following their purchase of a penthouse designed by Roberto Cavalli in Century City back in 2022. Additionally, they maintain a residence in Orange County, a location that serves Heather's involvement in "The Real Housewives."
The Dubrows secured the hilltop residence for $16.1 million, a considerable markdown from its original listing price of $37.5 million.
Heather confirmed the acquisition to Entertainment Tonight, stating, "Yes, we did! It's so exciting!" She added, "We tried to buy five or six properties all over Cabo, Newport Beach, Beverly Hills, Palm Springs, and the universe landed us here, at the most iconic, Hollywood estate."
