Many ‘Temptation Island’ Fans Have Changed Their Thoughts On Vanessa

A lot of “Temptation Island” viewers had some strong thoughts about Vanessa in the beginning of the season, but as the season progressed, some people’s opinions have shifted.

Fans on social media haven’t been too shy about sharing their thoughts and even admitting that maybe they misjudged her early on.

Many viewers voiced their opinions on Vanessa being the “mean girl” or “toxic” partner between her and Rob. But it appears that some have shifted their view about her and are now more Team Vanessa.

Early in the season, Redditors shared some of their thoughts on the new cast and of course, Vanessa was mentioned quite a few times in the thread. 

“Vanessa - clearly dealing with a lot of demons/unresolved trauma; needs therapy,” one person wrote. Another said, “Vanessa seems like she is a mean girl.” 

Another person shared their thoughts on Rob and Vanessa as a couple. “Robert and Vanessa - This relationship let’s be gone was never going to last. I agree I didn’t know I was going to like Rob the most. He has shown growth. Vanessa does give off mean girl vibes, but it seem to me she gone through some hardships that have maybe forced her to be this way. I do not think they are a good match for each other. She talks down to him and he’s still has a lot of growth to experience.”

Another viewer of the show commented, “Vanessa might be my least fav girl in the history of the show. So self absorbed it’s wild. No wonder she’s with a guy 10 years younger no one her age would put up with that sh**.” 

“Vanessa controlling and disgusting, one of those people who thinks they are way better than they really are and thinks they can just steamroll everyone to get what she wants. She was actually demanding that the one 'single man' who she was interested in 'make a move' on her and she'll jump in bed with him. GET THE HINT Vanessa, if you tell a man to jump you and he says, 'let's take it slow' that means HE DOESN'T LIKE YOU,” another Redditor wrote.

Now fast forward to nearly the end of the season. Have people’s thoughts and views of Vanessa changed at all? Some might say yes.

After Hall broke up with Kaitlin and Vanessa got super emotional and supportive, viewers began to see a different side to Vanessa.

“I felt like she was playing Momma bear. I didn’t think it was fake, like others did. I thought to myself… wow, what a great friend she’d be to have when going through something like that bc she empathized with Kaitlyn. Maybe she does have me fooled, but I thought it was sweet ??‍♀️. Plus, I’m sure she was ripping Hall to pieces behind the scenes and sometimes that’s what you need to have around you when you just got dumped… someone to annihilate him in order to make you feel better/laugh,” one Reddit user said in a new thread about Vanessa on the social media platform.

Another viewer added, “What I have seen with Vanessa is she is very clearly a 'girls’ girl.' Like the one girl she talked shit about, proved to be the exact person she said she was. She may not be the best partner but she has been a very supportive and attentive friend and if she could just take those same characteristics and be softer to her partners she would be great!”

Another person summed it up, “Vanessa is a nightmare of a girlfriend (at least with her current partner), but seems like she would be a ride or die best friend for sure.”

And while many were talking about a shift in their opinion of Vanessa, some people were sticking to their original thoughts. 

“She is the definition of a narcissist. For her to go around on TV saying, "My friends look at him and are like "Why you dating down?" and then she gets outraged when he does something similar. And then in ep 7 she took credit for him growing a spine, like she was the one that made him that way by berating him lol. No, ABSENCE from her toxic a** made him that way. At the end of episode 8: she said "that's the first time I’m proud of him!" She is nuts. You can't say that about someone you dated for 1.5 years and be honest.”
