Is the breakup season coming for Eminem's daughter? The Hip-hop star's child, Hailie Jade, and her fiancé Evan McClintock appear to have hit a rough patch in their relationship, according to sources.
The second half of 2023 has been filled with multiple celebrity separations, which is why many could not help but wonder what was happening in the "Just A Little Shady" podcast host's home.
The social media influencer and her longtime beau recently raised eyebrows concerning their affection for each other. Instead of their usual loved-up nature, the pair allegedly seemed indifferent in their latest couple outing.
Eminem's Daughter Hailie Jade & Her Fiancé Seem 'Odd' With Little Interaction During Music Festival
The annual four-day Lollapalooza festival held in Chicago's Grant Park did not rouse its usual cheers from the "Mockingbird" rapper's daughter and her beau. According to an insider, the couple appeared displeased with each other at the event.
The social media influencer and her man stepped out with their friends on Friday, August 4, to watch Metro Boomin’s performance. However, an eyewitness claimed the engaged pair were more than happy to avoid themselves.
"Hailie arrived with her fiancé and five or six friends before Metro Boomin came on stage," the source told PageSix. "She sat between two of her girlfriends, and Evan stood on the other side of the table in the VIP section of the club."
Although the duo might have wished to spend time with their friends instead of flaunting their romance, the insider insisted the pair's behavior "seemed odd." In line with keeping their distance, the couple also exchanged "a few words with each other" during the night.
Their alleged cold demeanor seemed evident in Hailie's case as the source explained, "She didn’t seem to be in very high spirits." It was unclear if the media personality's mood improved before the group left the concert around 3 a.m.
However, shortly before exiting the music festival, the "Love the Way You Lie" hitmaker's daughter and her entourage were spotted talking to Drake’s lawyer, Steve Reisman. All the ladies at the table reportedly received $2 stacks from the legal representative.
Hailie and McClintock's seemingly cold appearances come six months after the media personality announced their engagement. In February, the stunning brunette shared a carousel of images capturing the emotional proposal on her Instagram page.
The snaps showed the newly engaged pair popping champagne in celebration, looking head over heels for each other — a significant contrast to their alleged distant demeanor at Lollapalooza. In another image, the 15-time Grammy winner's daughter flaunted the massive diamond ring she got from her beau.
Naturally, the joyous news was positively received by the podcaster's fans. Many commemorated the couple's new status without well wishes and gushy tributes, while others teased McClintock, noting it must have been nerve-wracking to ask for Eminem's approval.
Inside The Couple's Engagement Story & Getting The Hip-hop Icon's Blessing
Before raising concerns about their relationship, Hailie and McClintock won hearts with their adorable love story. Weeks after announcing her engagement, the "My Name Is" artist's daughter and her fiancé opened up about the memorable event.
During an episode of her "Just A Little Shady" podcast, the 27-year-old implored her fiancé to spill the tea about his emotional proposal. Getting into the details, the media personality's beau confessed to being nervous while planning the engagement.
According to McClintock, he began thinking about the proposal last summer and eventually began ring shopping between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Although he found it challenging to pick the perfect ring, Eminem's soon-to-be son-in-law credited his sister for helping with the process.
As for how he got the "Cleanin’ Out My Closet" singer's approval, McClintock explained the festive period had offered the right opportunity. "Over the holidays, I was just looking for an opportunity not to make it too obvious," the businessman began.
"I saw your dad go downstairs; I’m like, alright, I gotta do it right now, or I’m not doing it today. I’m gonna have to schedule to do it some other time, so I followed him downstairs," the enterprise growth executive explained.
According to Hailie, she had no idea about the engagement as she believed her beau or friends would have dropped hints about the proposal. "It got to the point where I was like it wasn’t even on my mind because I was like, I will know if he’s planning it," the entertainer claimed.
The 17-time Billboard award honoree's daughter confessed she once thought the engagement would never happen. "Like, I just thought that I was gonna know, and it got to the point where I was like, I don’t think he’s ever doing it," the 27-year-old chimed.
