In the aftermath of Foxx's apology post, the comment section became a battleground of divergent opinions as some Jewish fans saw nothing wrong with the actor's original post while others noted he only "excused" himself and "didn't take responsibility."

A fan wrote, "I am Jewish, and I thought it was one helluva leap to call it antisemitic. I knew exactly what you meant. Everybody needs to chill."

"I know you personally. I'm Jewish and know you're the last person that would EVER act antisemitic. You are kind and thoughtful to everyone. I would vouch for you always," another fan said.

One fan wrote, "It's scary today. You say anything, and someone somewhere is offended. Personally I found no offense in what you said, and I'm Jewish. But it takes courage to apologize regardless if you needed to or not. So bravo for being the good guy."

Amid the outpouring of support, a person who wasn't having it with Foxx's apology said the "amount of antisemitism generated" by his apology note and the original post "speaks for itself."

"I'm sorry, this is not an apology, and you're not taking any responsibility! You're only excusing yourself for the antisemitic post you uploaded," another individual wrote.
