The Australian musician is gearing up to release her second album, "Drummer," on August 11th! The LP will be their first since 2020's "About Us."

Many listeners have likely been introduced to G Flip's music in the last year courtesy of their partner, reality star Chrishell Stause! The duo starred in G Flip's music video together for their single, "GET ME OUTTA HERE," and would allow the reality TV world to get a glimpse into their relationship during the latest season of "Selling Sunset."

According to G, "Growing up watching pop music icons, I never saw a solo artist whose main instrument was drums. I wanted an album that my kid self dreamed of, a hybrid of pop/rock but with drums out the front," they continued, "Incorporating groove, tempo, feel and drum moments while still making catchy pop music," they explained in a press release about the record. They would also share their feelings about the record on Instagram, when they shared the cover art for "Drummer" in June. They would write in the caption, "I’m very happy to announce that MY NEW ALBUM DRUMMER IS COMING OUT AUGUST 11TH!! I've been waiting years to share this with you all, thank you to anyone who has supported me ? drop some drum emojis if you’re keen..."

They also wanted to honor an extremely important figure in their musical upbringing: "Drummer" was also made to honor their late drum instructor, Jenny.

G described the record to Rolling Stone as "The record of my dreams- an ode to kit, my younger self, and to Jenny." The earliest notes of the album were inspired by drum grooves that G Flip planned to incorporate in the tracks, the outlet reported.
