Actress and activist Sophia Bush has filed for divorce from her husband Grant Hughes after only 13 months of marriage.
The "One Tree Hill" star filed the legal documents in Los Angeles County Court and cites "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split. It should be noted that this is a common legal term, and is used for 99% of divorces in California. The only other choices include fraud or annulment. The reason is that in this state it doesn't really matter who is at fault.
The former couple issued a statement to People Magazine, saying, "Sophia and Grant were friends for 10 years and bonded during COVID through their love of community service." Adding, "They continue to run their nonprofit together and remain good friends."
As of this writing, few details have been made public about the news. Bush appears to still have photos with Hughes still up on her Instagram.

Of her wedding dress, she wrote, "Dream dress. To create something so special and so personal with one of my dearest and oldest friends in fashion, @moniquelhuillier, was a true joy and an expression of love.
As a visual person and a storyteller, I love what imagery can represent. On this day, I wanted to represent us. Where we come from. Where we are going. Oklahoma tea roses for my husband and his family. Italian olives and branches for mine, and for what their offering signifies. California poppies for our home together. And our sweet, chunky bees, that we have cultivated together for years now. Colors pulled from sunsets and sunrises in his hometown and mine. An honoring of place, memory, and purpose. Printed in Italy. Sewn in California. Worn in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I will love this forever..."
The duo also honored the late Georgia Congressman John Lewis on their big day.

Looking Back At Sophia Bush's Marriage To Grant Hughes
The Blast announced Bush's marriage to Hughes back in June of last year.
We took a look at how Bush discussed her marriage to Hughes. She told her "Drama Queens" and 'OTH' co-stars Hillarie Burton-Morgan and Joy Lenz that the chemistry between Grant and herself was clearly visible to the former couple's friends.
"Everyone was like, 'Welcome to your own party, ya idiot,'' she said, per Us Weekly.
The duo's relationship needed a lot of inner work on Bush's part to make happen. She also explained how her personal life reportedly needed an overhaul.
"Well, I’m a romantic,” she began, “I’m a storyteller, I believe in people. I’m an optimist, so I often fall in love with potential. It’s not, as a partner, my job or your job to help another person realize their potential. You can support someone in realizing their potential- you can’t make them do it," she said.
When she came to realize the patterns she needed to work on, Bush seemed to have a moment of clarity.
"When I shifted the place that I pick from or that I was willing to see potential from being not sympathetic but inspired, I went, ‘Oh, oh!,'' she would continue. (via The Blast)
