Celine Dion's Sister Has Taken On A Caregiver Role For The Singer

Stiff Person Syndrome is making singer Celine Dion’s life a living hell. Her sister has moved inand is taking care of her.

The singer is apparently really struggling according to Claudette Dion who has revealed their sister Linda has moved in to care for Celine. Her three sons René-Charles, Eddy, and Nelson still live there as well.

Claudette revealed that Lind and the rest of the singer’s family are working with top researchers and doctors to help find a treatment that will propel her sister out of the illness. Stiff Person Syndrome causes muscles to tense uncontrollably and leaves people like ‘human statues’ struggling to walk or talk.

There is no known cure but there are treatments that can slow it down and make life bearable. Dion is doing all she can to slow down her progress, but it may not be working because she was forced to cancel the rest of her Las Vegas shows and stop touring.

Speaking with Le Journal de Montreal, Claudette says “When I call her and she's busy, I speak to my sister Linda who lives with her and tells me that she's working hard. She's listening to the top researchers in the field of this rare disease as much as possible.”

When it came to canceling the Courage World Tour, Claudette insists that Dion didn’t have much of a choice. “I honestly think that she mostly needs to rest. She always goes above and beyond, she always tries to be the best and top of her game. At one point, your heart and your body are trying to tell you something. It's important to listen to it.”

She noted that they have “trust” in Celine to find a solution that works for her and one that will allow her to return to the stage, eventually.

It was reported back in June that Dion sold her beloved Vegas home to be closer to family in Canada. “Celine is in an enormous amount of pain.” A source shared with Radar Online, “She has the best medical team money can buy, but things aren’t looking good.”

They continued, “Her disease is incurable. And as hard she’s worked at it with doctors and therapists, she simply isn’t getting better. To be honest, she can barely move.” Thankfully Celine has a big family.

“Celine has 11 brothers and sisters living in Canada,” the source added, “It’s an amazing, loving support system for her during a time of personal crisis.”

Dion bravely shared her situation with her fans back in December. The 55-year-old shared an emotional message with her followers on Instagram.

“It is with tremendous disappointment that we have to announce today the cancellation of the Courage World Tour. I'm so sorry to disappoint all of you once again. I'm working really hard to build back my strength, but touring can be very difficult even when you're 100%. I want you all to know, I'm not giving up… and I can't wait to see you again!”
