It was another weekend where "Barbie"-mania ran supreme. The new live-action movie, starring Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken, had another dominant weekend at the box office. The film brought in close to another $100 million domestically at the box office for its second frame, grossing another $93 million, per figures from Box Office Mojo.

The new Greta Gerwig-directed feature, based on the line of Mattel dolls, has now grossed $351 million domestically and $780.7 million worldwide.

'Barbie' Continues Box Office Domination, Nearing $1 Billion Worldwide

The film should be surpassing $1 billion worldwide in a matter of days. "Barbie" has become a huge hit for Warner Bros. Discovery at a time when the studio desperately needed a big hit for its theatrical division. The film has also become a social media sensation, with fans and moviegoers dressing up in movie-appropriate pink outfits and sharing their experiences on social media platforms and TikTok.

"Barbie" only had a 42.6% dropoff in its second weekend. That's a good sign for the movie's staying power, and it should continue to climb even higher throughout its box office run.

Elsewhere, Christopher Nolan's new historical drama, "Oppenheimer," continues to do well. Even though the film has yet to chart at No. 1 at the box office, it's still making bank. It dropped only 43.4% in its second weekend to make another $46.7 million That brings its current total to $174.5 million domestically and $405 million worldwide.

Nolan's highest-grossing film ever worldwide was "The Dark Knight Rises" in 2012, with $1.081 billion worldwide. His highest domestic-grossing film ever was 2008's "The Dark Knight," with $534 million domestically and $1.006 billion worldwide. It seems unlikely that "Oppenheimer" will surpass $1 billion worldwide at this point, but it will likely be very close and will probably rank as Nolan's third highest-grossing film ever.

Disney's "Haunted Mansion," based on the popular theme park attraction, opened at No. 3 with only $24.08 million. With a reported budget of about $150 million, it's not the most auspicious of openings for the reboot. The film didn't fare well with critics either, scoring only 41% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Angel Studios' "Sound of Freedom" had another good showing over the weekend, bringing in $12.8 million in its fourth weekend in theaters. The film has now made $149.3 million and climbing. It will very likely make close to $200 million, if not more domestically before it finishes its theatrical run.

Lastly, "Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One" managed to stem some of the bleeding in its third weekend out. It dropped 45.2 percent over the weekend to make another $10.6 million. That brings its current domestic total to $139.1 million. While the film has done disappointing business in the United States relative to its budget, it's done much better overseas. It's currently sitting on $448 million worldwide. Unfortunately, it's not going to do anywhere close to the business of "Top Gun: Maverick," which made nearly $1.5 billion last year for Paramount.

At the very least, the Tom Cruise-led sequel should manage to make a bit more before it leaves theaters, and the film did have good reviews and audience reaction, "Dead Reckoning Part Two" might fare better. However, that remains to be seen. Either way, the film still has to have a little bit of box office gas left in the tank.

"Barbie" and "Oppenheimer" are now playing in theaters.
