Tori Kelly is back home!
Just over a week after the singer-songwriter was hospitalized for blood clots found in her legs and lungs, she has been discharged from Sinai-Cedars Medical Center. She had been rushed there on Sunday, July 23, after fainting at a dinner with friends at a restaurant in downtown Los Angeles.
Not only did fans pour out their relentless support, but her husband of four years, André Murillo, opened up about his feelings during the heartwrenching ordeal.
Tori Kelly Was Sent Home To Rest After A Week In The Hospital
While speculations about what caused the clots around Kelly's vital organs continue to permeate the air, insiders close to the Grammy award-winning singer confirmed to TMZ that she was discharged on Monday, July 31. The "Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing" songstress has been taken home to rest since she feels better after the ordeal.
The outlet's sources also claimed that even though the 30-year-old will continue to undergo routine check-ups, getting discharged from the intensive care unit and the hospital is a "big step." Her husband had previously shared that they were waiting on more information from the medical team attending to her at Sinai-Cedars.
Similarly, Kelly had penned a seemingly handwritten note to fans during her hospitalization, declaring her fear, heartbreak, and hope for a full recovery. She had started the lengthy letter with the words:
"hi friends…as you may have heard, I'm dealing with some unexpected heath challenges. its been a scary few days but i can feel your prayers & can't stop thinking about you. I'm feeling stranger now and hopeful but unfortunately there are still some things to uncover."
After expressing her gratitude "for the amazing doctors & nurses" who were dedicated to her recovery, the "Hallelujah" performer disclosed that she was going ahead with the July 28 release of her "Tori" EP.
The "Nobody Love" hitmaker explained that she was doing that because she wanted fans to "enjoy a project that represents the happy place" that she has been "in the last few years." Kelly wrapped up her note with an assurance that she would "not let this hurdle prevent the music" from being in her fans' possession, adding:
"i love you all so much & i am truly overwhelmed by all of the love s care i have received, thank you from the bottom of my heart!"
The letter, which was shared via her Instagram page, expectedly raked in many likes and comments, with one person typing, "tori! 😭 been so incredibly sad these past few days thinking about you. i knew you meant the world to me & this just proved it. so thankful you were able to write this but hate that you're not back to 100%."
The BET Award Winner's Fans Flooded Her With Their Prayers For Speedy Recovery
Just before she had posted her statement, tons of her fans had taken to whatever social media platform they could to express their support for her. At the time, The Blast observed that one netizen took to X — formerly Twitter — to state, "praying for tori kelly man i hope she makes it through, she seems like such a sweet and genuine soul."
A second person expressed their hope that the GMA Dove Award recipient would recover quickly, and a third pleaded, "Please please please get better, Miss Tori Kelly as the world needs people like you."
"Nah, we need to come together to pray for Tori Kelly. Get baby girl through," a fourth cybercitizen urged, as a fifth swore that they would be "inconsolable" if anything happened to the "Should've Been Us" singer. Additionally, one fan lengthily tweeted:
"Yikes. That's going to be a huge stinger, especially for her family & friends. But if Damar Hamlin & Jamie Foxx have taught us anything, it's that miracles can happen, and I'm actively praying that God, Jesus, & every deity out there keeps Tori Kelly with us."
Others, who did not make standalone posts, took to Kelly's July 11 Instagram post to drop their words of encouragement. While one person requested her to "Hang in there TK 🫶🏽 sending you love and healing vibes from the LGBTQ community," another asked her to "feel better soon."
"Praying for you and your family. Hoping that you are able to make a full and speedy recovery with the support of the medical staff taking care of you and I know that God is watching over you and will give you the strength to overcome this," a third fervently disclosed.
