Lori Vallow Daybell Was Smiling When Her Life Sentence Was Handed Down

Lori Vallow Daybellwill be behind bars for the rest of her life but it was her reaction to the sentencing that is sending chills down people’s spines.

The mom who believed her children were “zombies” possessed by something evil was handed down the plan for the rest of her life. The one-time beauty pageant contestant smiled while sitting in court and doubled down on her weirdness by saying some odd things during her last moments in court.

She denied that anyone “was murdered in this case.”

She also claims that she has spoken to her children since their passing alleging that they came to her and told her they were “happy”. Vallow Daybell also said, “I mourn with all of you who mourn my children, and Tammy, Jesus Christ knows the truth of what happened here.”

The denial of guilt certainly did not help Vallow Daybell’s case and the judge, Steven Boyce pointed this out.

Judge Boyce noted to Vallow Daybell that she had every other option for her children if she felt that she could no longer take care of her daughter Tylee Ryan, 16 who was just days away from turning 17, and her 7-year-old son J.J. Vallow.

The judge also reminded Vallow Daybell that she was conspiring to murder her fifth husband’s ex-wife Tammy Daybell, which she was also found guilty for.

Altogether, Vallow Daybell is found guilty of conspiracy to commit murder in her kid’s deaths and of grand theft for continuing to collect Social Security money meant to be used for the children, after they were dead, plus, conspiring to kill Tammy.

In the numerous documentaries, books, TV docuseries, and a Lifetime movie Vallow Daybell was penned as the mother who saw her kids and eventually her husband’s ex-wife as obstacles that needed to be rid of.

The judge agreed and prosecutors argued that she wanted the money and this was the way to do it. The court even went as far as to state that Vallow Daybell used the whole “doomsday” thing and religious beliefs and that she was a goddess preparing for the end of the world. To justify her actions.

Vallow Daybell’s defense attorney claimed that she is a good mother who had nothing to do with the murder of her children. Some of Vallow Daybell’s victims and family members affected by this tragedy got to speak their peace to her.

Samantha Gwilliam, Tammy Daybell’s sister spoke to Vallow Daybell directly and addressed her former brother-in-law as well saying, “You are not exalted beings, and your behavior makes you ineligible to be one. No angels are coming to rescue you.”

This is a story that shocked many beginning back in 2019 when J.J.’s grandparents became concerned when they hadn’t heard from their grandson. Police did a welfare check but found that J.J. nor Tylee were at Vallow Daybell’s home.

When the police returned the next day with a search warrant, the couple was gone. They were located in Hawaii where they had gotten married to everyone’s surprise. They were tanning by a pool when they were served with a paper demanding they bring the kids home.

By June 2020, police found the bodies of J.J. and Tylee on their mom’s property in Rexburg, Idaho. Both Vallow Daybell and her husband Chad Daybell were charged with the children’s deaths in May 2021 and the 2019 death of Daybell’s first wife, Tammy Daybell.
