Kid Cudi is tired of being judged for his appearance! The renowned rapper called out those responsible for lodging "homophobic" allegations against him and warned them to get off his case.
The entertainer, born Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi, is well-known for his contributions to the Hip-hop scene. His debut single, "Day 'n' Nite," took the Cleveland native from an up-and-coming artist to a worldwide sensation.
However, gaining stardom came with persecution over the 39-year-old's sexuality. Trolls frequently attacked the father of one with gay claims, a narrative the media personality repeatedly refuted. Frustrated by these comments, the Grammy winner fired back in a series of tweets.
Kid Cudi Slams Critics For Finding 'Gayness' In Everything, Including His Smile
Over the weekend, the "Pursuit of Happiness" rapper's Twitter page became a blast feast against "homophobic" fans. The entertainer aired his anger in several messages, noting he would no longer tolerate the picture painted about him.
The ranting session began after the "Malcolm & Marie" executive producer shared a picture of himself smiling on Instagram. However, this simple snap caused critics to rain gay claims on the TV personality.
Addressing the issue, the 39-year-old's first tweet began, "U know what's crazy, and makes me question the world we live in, is when I post a picture of me smiling on it and there are mad comments questioning my sexuality flooding my page w insults."
Cudi concluded, "I feel terrible for yall, man. It's sad out here. Man can't even smile and be happy no more. Smh," lamenting trolls' mindset. The "Mr. Rager" artist's words received the support of several fans, who echoed similar observations.
One person chimed: "It's crazy cause you're just smiling in the picture, literally nothing else." Responding to this comment, the father of one stressed he could not express himself without it being a gay agenda.
"Im sayin' im like God DAMN cats are SUPER homophobic like REACHING for gayness everywhere they look, haha," the media personality penned. When a Twitter user misinterpreted his message as hatred for the term "gay," the chart-topper explained he was not offended.
"I'm sorry it got to you, Cudi. I'm sad you think it's a diss," the follower's comment read, eliciting another lengthy reply from the "Just What I Am" rapper. According to the Cleveland native, he wanted to be happy without people turning his joy into a sexuality debate.
"It's more the ignorance; Im not insulted. It's just sad to see people so lame; it's sad someone, a man, cant show joy without there being some conversation about their sexuality," the Wicked Awesome Records founder claimed.
"People have been callin' me gay for years. It is what it is; it just never reached this level of f**kery until now," the Hip-hop star wailed. Recalling his childhood under a strict father, the record producer admitted he never had the opportunity to be "silly" while growing up.
"When I was a lil boy, my dad was super militant. He never liked us playing around most of the time. He was very strict. It's almost like being silly was a sign of weakness to him," the entertainer revealed.
After his challenging childhood, Cudi promised to enjoy his freedom without letting others force him into a box. "I vowed when I was young never to let anyone, not even my father, dim my light," the 39-year-old declared.
The Co-founder Of Mad Solar Received Backlash For Painting His Nails
This is not the first time the "Trapped in My Mind" rapper has addressed homophobic remarks on his social media page. In 2021, the fashion designer was forced to turn off his Instagram comments following the hate messages he received for rocking nail polish.
The criticisms started after the father of one shared a picture of himself wearing a helmet and holding out his hand to flaunt his orange and blue manicure. The snap captioned "Mando Cud" showed the entertainer was impressed with his nail art and wanted to share the moment with fans.
However, some of his followers accused Cudi of being interested in same-sex relationships. In response, the MOTR brand founder turned off his IG comments and clapped at trolls on his Twitter page.
"Turned my comments off on Instagram. It seems people have a problem w me painting my nails. I got tired of blockin' so many accounts," the media personality began, noting he was not interested in keeping hostile fans.
"I need you to understand; if you don't like me doin' this or anything I do, please don't buy my albums or come to my shows. F**k way off," Cudi slammed his homophobic critics.
