Love and commitment are a beautiful journey, but for Bethenny Frankel, it seems wedding bells might not be ringing anytime soon.
The reality TV star, who got engaged to Paul Bernon, recently shared her perspective on their future. While the couple's love is strong, the entrepreneur revealed that she does not feel the need to rush into building a grand wedding.
Bethenny Frankel Embraces A Different Path In Relationship With Paul Bernon
She appears to be taking inspiration from Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell's enduring relationship, as she has no immediate plans to walk down the aisle with her fiancé.
"The Real Housewives of New York City" alum shared that after two years of engagement, they still have no concrete wedding plans, and the idea of an official marriage might not be in their future. Frankel candidly expressed her stance on weddings in an exclusive interview with E! News Chief Correspondent Keltie Knight. She stated:
"I don't want to build a wedding. I love my life, I love my fiancé. He's an amazing life partner, and I don't want to sign a contract with someone I love, and I don't want to plan a massive wedding for everybody else and not what we want."
The 52-year-old emphasized that she prefers doing what feels right for them rather than conforming to societal expectations. In 2021, just weeks after Frankel concluded her tumultuous divorce from ex Jason Hoppy, Bernon proposed. In an Instagram update, the TV host shared the heartwarming story of how he popped the question.
The "Z Rock" guest star shared a series of slides on her page, starting with a cozy picture of her and the businessman snuggling together on their special night. In the subsequent slide, her impressive diamond ring with an emerald-cut stone flanked by two smaller ones took center stage.
Other uploads showcased an ocean selfie of the pair and a snapshot of the "Skating with the Stars" runner-up donning a hot red bikini. Beneath the flurry of content, she wrote:
"On February 12, 2021, during the pandemic, Paul and I went to Little Palm Island, a small private hotel on a Florida island in the Florida keys. We are homebodies and rarely book a reservation…we like to be free and nimble and not held down to a time or plan."
She revealed that Bernon's sole mission on their special day was to catch the sunset "because the Keys are known for the stunning sunsets." For the occasion, the "Teacher of the Year'' producer led her to a secluded table on the beach, creating a private and romantic setting akin to a fantasy date on "The Bachelor."
While Frankel acknowledged that the "intimate details of the story are private," she reassured her followers that the secrecy did not take away from the fact that it was "a beautiful proposal, in a beautiful setting, with a beautiful ring, to a beautiful man."
The 'Bethenny Ever After' Alum Reveals Andy Cohen's Regrettable Marriage Advice
In a recent conversation on her "Just B" podcast with Jill Zarin, the "Beat Bobby Flay" guest judge opened up about a piece of advice she received from the 55-year-old that she now considers the "worst idea in history."
The "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen" host had suggested that she marry her second husband, Hoppy, which ultimately led to them tying the knot in 2010. The ex-couple separated two years later, and their divorce was only finalized in 2021. She reportedly stated:
"Andy told me to marry Jason, so there we go. F**king worst idea in history."
In a 2021 episode of the same podcast, the mother-of-one opened up about her "nightmare divorce" from the entrepreneur. Frankel revealed that she had initially resisted signing a prenuptial agreement, firmly believing that "'no one's taking anything from me.'"
Looking back, the "Million Dollar Listing New York" guest shared, "I have spent millions of dollars, millions of tears. I have had a horrific, hall of fame, nightmare divorce."
Discussing her concerns about a prenuptial agreement, she explained her hesitation, "I'm trusting, and I just don't want to deal with this, and it was embarrassing." The "Hollywood Hills 90028" lead further elaborated that the word 'prenup' was embarrassing to her, finding it uncomfortable and awkward.
