Chet Hanks, son of famous actors Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, is working towards being a new man as he pledges his life to God.
Since the multi-talented celeb converted from atheism to Christianity, he has used his various platforms to communicate the word of God to as many people as possible.
He once again showcased his dedication to his spiritual journey by ridding his Instagram of worldly content while getting a new "holy" tattoo which he recently revealed as his second post on the platform.
Chet Hanks Acknowledges His New Faith With New Tattoo
As Chet progresses on his God-driven path, he showcases his latest addition to his numerous tattoos with a quote from the Holy Bible. "Proverbs 3:5-6," he wrote, "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths."
The "White and Purple" rapper was captured shirtless in the attached picture, highlighting the new cross ink at the center of his chest and surrounded by other drawings like a heart with his daughter's name and multiple suns.
Many of his fans seemed to be taken with the art as they sent prayers his way. One comment read, "Continue putting God first and watching your life change. ❤️.” A second follower penned, "God Bless You 🙏🏾✝️❤️🙌🏾...May you continue to seek him and his will for your life...for he only knows what's best for you."
A third remarked, "God bless you, brother. Proud of you. May Jesus lead you and make your crooked paths straight. I pray protection over you in the blood of Jesus so you can speak the truth in boldness. God bless."
"Praise God, from whom ALL blessings flow!! I will be lifting you in prayer.🙏🏼🙌🏼," one more well-wisher exclaimed, while another wrote, "God saves, and God forgives. Praying for you 🙏🏻."
In a preceding post, marking the "Shameless" actor's first Instagram update since clearing his feed, he shared a carousel detailing who he was before finding Christ and who he is now.
"I have been in character for as long as I've been in the public eye," the first slide read. "I've played many roles and worn many masks. Actor. Rapper. Fitness guy. Lambo guy. None of them are the real me." He added, "I am an expert at playing the fool because I learned it as a survival mechanism," before moving on to the second slide, noting that the world needed more of God than anything.
In the third slide, the message continued, "All the pain in my life has resulted from one thing – the lie of believing that my purpose is anything but just serving God."
The ensuing slide showed Chet admitting that he was unsure how best to serve God but believed everything would be revealed in time. He then concluded with a note to fans who thought they did not fit, urging them to follow God, who may be calling them to a "Higher Purpose."
Before clearing his Instagram page, the "Empire" star once posted an inspirational video, compelling fans to get closer to God and captioned, "ALL PRAISE TO THE highest."
He was filmed in a moving vehicle declaring no relationship, friendship, family member, or career was as satisfactory as a "personal relationship" with God.
The actor also urged fans to test his theory by creating a connection with the "Highest" and see "how powerful they become."
The 'Your Honor' Actor Inspired Fans With Body Transformation Following Drug Issues
Chet, who used to struggle with substance abuse, previously blessed his Instagram followers with before and after looks, indicating his healing journey.
Using a selfie from his 20s and a more current snap, he showed his fans that he was completely clean of drugs as he appeared more muscled than when he had a drug problem in his 20s.
As an inspiration to Instagram users, the 32-year-old noted his weight in both photos by writing, "Left: 32, sober, 220lbs Right: 24, on drugs, 160lbs." He then explained that he was not "a naturally big dude," but without drugs and alcohol and with "training and proper diet," he reached the buff stage.
Chet advised fans to follow in his footsteps and "do whatever your gut tells you you need to do to match your vision for yourself."
