Shanna Moakler wants the world to know what really happened in her relationship with her ex-fiancé Oscar De La Hoya.

The 48-year-old and the former professional boxer had started a relationship in 1997 before they announced their engagement the following year. Less than a year later, they welcomed their child — daughter Atiana De La Hoya — in March 1999.

The pair eventually broke up shortly after when Moakler learned that De La Hoya had taken another woman as his date to an awards ceremony while they were still romantically involved. Although she has since moved on, Moakler will be appearing in an upcoming documentary about her former partner and she has shared why.

Shanna Moakler Has Nothing To Hide About Her Defunct Relationship With Oscar De La Hoya In Upcoming Documentary

Moakler has a plan to shed more light on the events surrounding her relationship with De La Hoya several years after the latter withdrew from their daughter's life when she was young. The beauty queen explained she was pressured to appear in the documentary to share her "side of the story." In the words of the reality television star:

"I got involved as I was told it would be a no-holds-barred doc and felt I could openly tell my side of the story. I don't know how they plan to edit it. I have absolutely no relationship with Oscar de la Hoya now nor do I want one."

She added that the boxing promoter's relationship with their child was "between he [SIC and her as she is a young adult now and I will not speak on that." What Moakler is doing instead is focusing on her own bond with Atiana as well as her other two kids, Landon and Alabama Barker, whom she shares with her ex-husband and rocker Travis Barker.

"I am extremely close to all my children. Nothing will ever stop that, even if we have bumps in the road as every family does with teenagers. I love them all unconditionally and will always be active, involved, and supportive in their lives," she gushed to Us Weekly

The Miss Nevada USA executive producer had shared the proof of their unwavering love in a singular photo of her and her three children looking glammed up and happy on her IG Story. Donning a white shirt and blue bottoms, Moakler slightly tilted her head as she beamed and looked at Alabama from the corner of her eyes.

She seemingly placed her hand around Landon as he and Atiana rested on her folded legs while holding each other's hands and smiling. Just like their mother, Alabama and Landon wore white shirts, while their elder sister sported a black sleeveless top, bringing unity to their fashion choice.

Additionally, it will see him "take stock of his life and relationships" as he provides a "raw and intimate interview" in the program, which also features "insightful commentary" from those in his life including his ex-fiancee, his siblings, six kids, and his father Joel De La Hoya Sr.

The 1995 Ring Magazine Fighter Of The Year Admitted To Running Away From Being A Father

Days before Moakler went on the path of telling the world the truth, De La Hoya had opened up about why he allowed his ex and Travis to raise Atiana after he walked away. Talking to Allison Kugel on her "Allison Interviews" podcast on Thursday, July 20, the 50-year-old divulged:

"I basically ran away. I was scared. I was fearful. I did try to be a father full-time for a few years, and it was beautiful."

He reiterated that even though it had been "amazing to raise a little girl," he could not help questioning his worthiness and trying to convince himself that it was impossible to get the unconditional love his daughter brought to his life.

After acknowledging that neither of his parents were expressive with their affection for him, De La Hoya declared that he "was always there, but not there," making his relationship with Atiana different from normal. The Golden Boy of boxing, as he is fondly known, further stated:

"You have to check in and you worry. Even though I was apart, I felt like I was always close, but I didn't feel like I was worthy enough to do the job."
