Shanna Moakler Enjoys Dinner Date With Daughter Atiana Following De La Hoya Comments

Quality time and cherished moments are on the menu for Shanna Moakler and her daughter Atiana.

The mother-daughter duo's delightful dinner date comes on the heels of Oscar de la Hoya revealing heartfelt truths about his relationship with the budding fashionista. Moakler, who shares the 24-year-old with the boxer, is also mother to Landon and Alabama from her marriage to drummer Travis Barker. 

The former pageant queen shared a sweet picture of the duo captioned, "Dinner with my sassy Latina. I love you @atianadelahoya," which featured her in a pair of sunglasses with her glamorous blonde locks style to the side. Meanwhile, the younger star wore an oversized sweatshirt, held a small bag, and made funny faces at the camera.

Atiana also posted a snap on her Instagram story with the words "Dinner date @shannamoakler" written above on the right. The pair were not in sight, but the ceiling, some diners, and the name of the sushi spot Katsu-ya, could be seen in a bold design at the entrance.

The reality TV star recently found herself thrust even more into the limelight when her father opened up about his decision to let Barker raise her himself. Though it may feel like a lifetime ago, the 50-year-old and Moakler were once a couple, even getting engaged in 1998 amd producing an offspring in 1999.

However, their whirlwind relationship took a dramatic turn, leading to a split after Oscar attended an awards ceremony with another woman. Known for his successful career, Oscar kept his personal life away from the spotlight until he recently appeared on Allison Kugel's "Allison Interviews" podcast on July 20. 

During the candid conversation, he revealed the reasons behind his decision for giving up raising his daughter, Atiana. In his words, "I basically ran away. I was scared. I was fearful. I did try to be a father full-time for a few years, and it was beautiful." 

However, despite having experienced the joy of raising his little girl for a few years, his past trauma and lack of emotional support from his father left him questioning his ability to be the parent she deserved. The boxing promoter stated, "You try to convince yourself that you are not worthy of this; that love is not possible in your life, because of what I lived through, not receiving that love when I was a kid. My father never told me, 'I love you.'"

He also candidly revealed that his mother never showed affection, sharing, "She never really hugged me. When I would cry, she would start hitting me. That is how bad it was." As a result, he confessed to being physically present but emotionally distant in his relationship with Atiana, making their connection different from what is typically expected.

In conclusion, The Golden Boy of boxing noted, "You have to check in, and you worry. Even though I was apart, I felt like I was always close, but I didn't feel like I was worthy enough to do the job."

The former "Joey" star reflected on their past relationship as the rocker eagerly awaits the arrival of his first child with Kourtney Kardashian, who disclosed that they are expecting a boy. The ex-couple, who share two grown kids, parted ways in 2008 and have since followed separate paths. 

While discussing the famous reality TV family, the former Miss USA reportedly shared her sentiments, stating that she has her reasons for not liking them. However, she emphasized that her primary concern is her children's well-being. In her words:

"I have my own personal reasons for not liking the Kardashians, which I won't get into. But as long as he's happy [and] as long as they are good to my kids, that's all I care about."

Reminiscing about their previous relationship, Moakler clarified that they had been separated for well over a decade, recognizing that Barker was no longer the person she once knew. 

Speaking openly about their current dynamics, the "Due South" star admitted, "He's not the person that I was with anymore. He's a completely different human being, so I don't even really know him as a man right now. I don't even know if we would be compatible or even good for one another anymore because he's not the person that he was on 'Meet The Barkers.'"
