'Modern Family' Jesse Tyler Ferguson & Justin Mikita Mark A Decade Of Marriage

Jesse Tyler Ferguson has hit a major milestone with his husband, Justin Mikita, as they celebrate ten years of marital union.

The couple tied the knot in Manhattan on July 20, 2013, after getting engaged the previous year. Their marriage is blessed with two beautiful children, Beckett Mercer and Sullivan Louis.

In honor of their tenth wedding anniversary, Ferguson and Mikita, surrounded by loved ones, sent heartwarming tributes to each other, expressing their undying love, which fans witnessed on social media. 

On Instagram, Ferguson, who portrayed Mitchell Pritchett on the TV show "Modern Family, led the couple's tribute with a charming post featuring three slides and captioned, "Happy 10th Anniversary @justinmikita. I love you so very, very much & am so happy I get to call you my husband."

The lovebirds displayed unbridled affection in all the slides, two of which were taken outdoors, while the last — a cute video — showed the couple lounging on a couch indoors. The 47-year-old filmed his partner sleeping with his mouth agape while staring at him with love.

Mikita eventually woke up, looked at Ferguson, and leaned on his shoulder to return to sleep, prompting Ferguson to smile. Their adorableness did not go unnoticed by fans, who excitedly marked the milestone using congratulatory messages.

A follower declared, "Happy 10th Anniversary! Wishing you and @justinmikita a lifetime of love, endless laughter, and magical adventures together ?✨?." Another commenter exclaimed, "Happy anniversary, gents! ❤️," followed by a third who wrote, "HAPPY ANNIVERSARY YOU TWO ❤️❤️."

Subsequently, Facebook remarked, "Congratulations Jesse and Justin ?." A fifth fan then penned, "Forever favorite video. Happy 10. Love you two ❤️."

"Happy anniversary, boys! ? @justinmikita @jessetyler," another devotee announced while a fellow fan gushed, "SO CUTEEEEEE !!!!!!! ??❤️‍?❤️‍?❤️‍?.”

Ferguson did not stop with one tribute but proceeded with another similarly endearing post detailing how he and his husband celebrated the impressive milestone with friends at their "favorite restaurant" Don Angie, in their "favorite city," NYC.

"What a way for @justinmikita & me to celebrate 10 years of marriage," the "On the Town" performer proclaimed. "With some of our closest friends at our favorite restaurant in our favorite city!" He then appreciated "@allanzepedaphoto," the photographer credited for the couple's wedding photos, for documenting the night.

Ferguson and Mikita looked overjoyed to be in great company in the ten uploaded images. The Tony Award winner rocked a brown suit, an inner dress shirt of a darker shade, and matching sneakers for the occasion.

In contrast, his husband opted for pink denim pants and a jacket ensemble with a white vest and matching sneakers. Their outfits could also be seen in Mikita's celebratory post, showing them walking down the street in two slides.

Marking the milestone, the 37-year-old producer wrote in the caption, "10 YEARS! Here's to 50 more. Happy anniversary, @jessetyler. Loved celebrating my favorite wedding with my favorite guy in my favorite city at my favorite restaurant ❤️??."

Months before the celebration, Ferguson and Mikita welcomed their second child via surrogacy which the Broadway star announced on Instagram with a note of gratitude. On November 15, 2022, he sent "special thanks" to Dr. Shahin Ghadir for "helping us grow our family." He also acknowledged their "incredible surrogate and all of the nurses and doctors" for their contribution.

Included in the attached carousel were sweet photos of the newborn, Sullivan Louis, with one showing him napping and wrapping his hand tightly around Mikita's finger. The lovebirds are also parents to son Beckett Mercer.

Back in 2020, Ferguson and Mikita were interviewed by Variety for the Power of Pride issue, during which they narrated their love story, right from where it all started. The duo first met at a gym, Equinox, in West Hollywood, and at the time, "Modern Family" was in its early days while the "Broadway Rising" star was still a law student.

Ferguson found Mikita attractive on the spot but did not pursue a relationship until late 2010, when their lives and careers became connected. After marriage equality passed, the lovers planned their wedding three years into their relationship, with Tony Kushner, Ferguson's idol, officiating the union.

"The Merchant of Venice" star mentioned that he had contacted Kushner as a joke after meeting him at a Thanksgiving dinner party when Ferguson was a budding 21-year-old actor.
