Dax Shepard Gushes About Hitting The 'Jackpot' In Touching Birthday Tribute To Kristen Bell

Dax Shepard isn’t shy to tell the world how much of a gem his wife, Kristen Bell, is as he honors her 43rd birthday. 

Although they met in 2007, the “Hit and Run” costars exchanged vows in 2013 and have continued to swoon fans with their romance. With more than a decade of knowing his wife, the 48-year-old comedian is more than thankful for her presence.

As his beloved wife turned a year older, Shepard couldn’t help but gush about how lucky he was to have her. 

To celebrate his lover’s new age, the comedian dedicated a post on his Instagram to her. The post contained heartwarming moments of the lovers at different times in their relationship. The carousel opened with a shot of the couple enjoying a boat cruise. Bells donned a white swimsuit alongside a beach hat while Shepard stayed shirtless. 

The next photo on the slideshow showed the “Hit and Run” actor kissing his wife as they posed behind a stadium. Among the carousel was a solo shot of the birthday girl flashing a dazzling smile. The post ended with a picture of the Golden Globe Award nominee wearing a pink Gi, appearing to have had martial art session. 

In the caption, the “Armchair Expert” host heartily expressed how much his wife means to him. He wrote, “Happy Birthday to the world’s hottest jujitsu practitioner. And that’s in addition to being the greatest mom, wife, sister, and dog owner that this world has ever known. Everyone one of us in her Orbit has hit the jackpot. Happy Birthday Buddy!!!! @kristenanniebell ??????”

Of course, Bells felt the sweet tribute and left a response for her husband in the comments. “So grateful I get to spend them all with you ❤️,” the actress wrote. 

Shepard praising his wife as the “greatest mom” undoubtedly comes from a place of experience with her excellent parenting skills. Earlier in the year, the “Frozen” actress got candid about her parenting skills during an interview with Real Simple. The 43-year-old revealed that when it comes to her kids, she’s very open with them and even told them of their dad’s battle with addiction. 

“There should be no topic that's off the table for people to talk about,” Bell explained her parenting mechanism. “I know it's shocking, but I talk to my kids about drugs and the fact that their daddy is an addict, and he's in recovery, and we talk about sex. There are all these 'hard topics' that don't have to be if you give the person on the other end your vulnerability and a little bit of credit.”

Although Bell’s and Shepard’s romance is an example of a fairytale love, they were not always smitten by each other. The duo first met at an intimate sushi dinner celebrating the birthday of Shauna Robertson, producer of “Forgetting Sarah Marshall,” where Bell had her breakout role.

At that time, Shepard was newly famous through his role on the MTV series “Punk'd,” but the “Bad Moms” star admitted she didn't know him. However, what caught her attention was how chatty the actor was. Meanwhile, Shepard was conscious of what he called the "unbridled happiness" displayed by Bell and her friends. 

The two had another encounter at a Detroit Red Wings hockey game and bonded over their shared home state. The next day, Shepard got Bell's number from Robertson to talk to her. According to the martial arts enthusiast, his opening text was audacious. It read, “I violated your privacy and got your number from Shauna. How do you feel about that?"

"I was, like, okay, starting it off with a really good joke that makes me feel, like, butterflies. I fell in love with him way before he fell in love with me."

In no time, the two started dating, but three months in, they broke up. The “Couple Retreat” actress said they broke up because Shepard wasn’t entirely into the relationship as he was “dating other people.” However, that break ended in four days as they reunited. 

Besides being romantic partners, Bell and Shepard were also costars in the 2009 film, “When in Rome.” After shooting the movie, the lovebirds got engaged low-key but waited until the 2010 Grammys to announce the news officially. In March 2013, the two welcomed their first daughter, Lincoln Bell Shepard. In June of the same year, the actor proposed to his partner, and they tied the knot in October. 

The famed couple expanded their family in 2014 with a second daughter, Delta Bell Shepard. The mom of two has supported her husband all through his sobriety journey and even when he had a relapse following a motorcycle accident. While maintaining their romance, the twosome does everything to make it work, including having marriage therapy sessions.
