Tori Spelling Addresses Motel Living Situation With Her Kids Amid Marital Issues With Dean McDermott

Tori Spelling seemingly confirmed the shaky state of her marriage to Dean McDermott. While leaving a target, the actress was asked about McDermott's divorce announcement, to which she replied that she's "always looked better on [her] own."

She also defended her present living situation in a motel with her children stating that she would do anything for her kids. Spelling had previously talked about a mold infestation in her home.

Amid rumors of a separation from her husband, Dean McDermott, Tori Spelling was spotted shopping at a Target store in LA this week, exuding a somber demeanor. In a video clip, the 50-year-old star was questioned about her marital situation, to which she responded, "I've always looked better on my own."

Recent weeks have seen Spelling embracing the role of a single mother, hinting at the possibility that her 18-year marriage may have come to an end.

Addressing some controversies surrounding her living situation, the actress defended her choice to stay in a $100-a-night motel with her children due to a mold infestation. After being asked relentlessly in the video why she chose to stay at a "cheap" motel, she passionately asked, 

"Are you a parent? You know you would do whatever you can for your kids, right?"

On July 8, Spelling was spotted leaving a modest motel in the Los Angeles area along with her five children, all of whom are currently staying with her. Interestingly, this event occurred shortly after her husband, McDermott, announced their divorce on his Instagram page, only to delete the statement later.

However, a reliable source disclosed to Us Weekly that the reason for Spelling's temporary accommodation in the budget-friendly motel has nothing to do with separation from McDermott. Instead, the decision was prompted by a persistent mold issue plaguing their marital home.

According to the insider, "Tori and Dean are doing good and her staying at a hotel with their kids has nothing to do with a separation." 

"They decided to stay there because of the ongoing mold problem at their house. Tori is taking this issue very seriously and isn't going to subject herself or her kids to that," the source added.

Notably, the actress faced a similar issue when she had to relocate her family from a rental home due to an extreme mold infestation affecting their well-being. In May, Spelling also spoke out about the seriousness of the toxic fungus, stating that it had been "slowly killing" her family for three years.

Amid her separation, Spellings' mom, Candy, stands firmly by her daughter's side. During a chat with TMZ on July 8, the renowned author of "Stories From Candyland" opened up about her daughter's situation.

The 77-year-old affirmed that Spelling is thriving despite the challenging circumstances. "She's doing great," Candy stated, adding, "I love my daughter, and I support her in whatever she does."

When questioned about the nature of Spelling's separation and whether it was a positive step, Candy reiterated her unwavering position without giving too much away. She said, "I support my daughter."

Candy also made it clear that her support extended beyond emotional encouragement, as she expressed her willingness to provide financial assistance if necessary. "Of course, I will always be there for her," she confirmed.

Spelling opened up about her current emotional state in a candid revelation on her social media platform. The "Beverly Hills, 90210" alum shared that she has been going through some of her "darkest times" recently. However, amid the challenges, she finds solace and hope in the company of her beloved children.

Taking to her Insta Stories on a Monday, Spelling shared a series of heartwarming photos that depicted the things that bring joy to her life. The images featured her five children with McDermott: Liam, 16; Stella, 15; Hattie, 11; Finn, 10; and Beau, six. Alongside family moments, she showcased simple pleasures like her favorite snacks, notably Tangy Ketchup Doritos, as well as her adorable pet dog and even a charming squirrel.
