A few months before, in March of 2018, Swift revealed her advocacy for the March For Our Lives organization against gun violence in schools.

Swift revealed to her followers she had made a donation to the organization by writing, "I've made a donation to show my support for the students, for the March of Our Lives campaign, for everyone affected by these tragedies, and support gun reform." (per The Blast)

"We've seen celebrities endorse Democrats before. Most Tennessee voters are not concerned with who a celebrity is voting for. Tennesseans are worried about which candidate is going to give them a good job, which candidate is going to go out a fix the education system, which candidate is going to do the things Tennessee voters need," the organization said.

The organization added, "We're glad Taylor Swift is engaging in politics. While we might disagree with her regarding which candidates she is supporting we always love to see younger people have opinions because too often younger people have been disengaged from the political cycle."
