Cordae Unveils Name Of Daughter With Naomi Osaka, Dedicates Performance To Newborn

The cat is officially out of the bag! Naomi Osaka's boyfriend Cordae just dropped the name of the couple's first child together during a concert.

The North Carolina native is an Emmy award-winning artist whose popularity skyrocketed after remixing iconic Hip-hop songs. He gained new attention in 2019 following the debut of his relationship with the pro tennis player.

Earlier in January, the lovebirds announced they were expecting a baby and later revealed the child's gender as female. Although the pair have kept fans updated about their daughter's growth, an insider spilled the tea about her arrival.

Now, the "Two Tens" rapper has shared additional details about his first offspring. 

During a recent performance, the four-time Grand Slam Singles champion's beau took a moment from his set to appreciate the audience. As seen in a video filmed by someone in the crowd, the first-time dad appeared overwhelmed by his emotions.

"I love you all forever for that. You all are a part of my family," the former YBN collective member said, thanking fans for their continued support before confirming the birth of his child with Osaka.

The rapper paid tribute to the newborn with his music and revealed the name that he and his girlfriend had chosen for their daughter, telling the audience:

"And speaking of family, um, my daughter Shai was just born a couple of days ago. So, I wanna dedicate this performance to my baby girl Shai. I love you. I'm going back home."

Naturally, his touching announcement created a buzz among concertgoers, who commemorated the joyous news with loud cheers. The celebrations continued online, with fans praising the new parents' naming skills.

"Thank you for considering your child's future with her name cause these other celebrities be doing too much," someone chimed. "He sounded so nervous. So cute! I hope he and Naomi are super happy," another person gushed. A third noted they were shocked by the 25-year-old's revelation.

"When him and Naomi did their GQ interview, I could tell he's really private. I'm surprised he announced the name," the individual penned, recalling the couple's cover story for the magazine's February 2021 issue.

As mentioned above, Cordae's baby name announcement came after a source had dropped the news about his daughter's birth. The informant recently revealed to People Magazine that the dynamic duo welcomed their first child in Los Angeles.

Although the insider did not specify the day the newborn was born, the anonymous individual addressed how Osaka and her baby were doing. The source claimed: "They are doing well."

The confirmation of the lovebirds' daughter's arrival came a month after the pair announced their child's gender. On her Instagram page, the biracial athlete shared several pictures from the couple's princess-themed baby shower.

The event featured adorable pink and purple decorations, including several balloons, flowers, and mushrooms on a lawn. The area featured more greenery and colorful flowers. However, what caught fans' attention was the large backdrop that read: "A little princess is on the way!"

Before welcoming their first child together, Cordae and Osaka warmed the hearts of their devotees with their touching bond. Looking back at their love story, the power couple became romantically linked in April 2019 when the Japanese beauty shared a hilarious video of the musician on social media.
