Zayn Malik Flexes His Biggest 'Dad Quality' During First Interview In Six Years!

Zayn Malik is spilling his OWN tea!

The former One Direction singer sat down with Alex Cooper on this week’s episode of “Call Her Daddy.”

The interview was conducted in Cooper’s parent’s living room on the East Coast, where Malik resides. She typically hosts the show in her studio in Los Angeles, CA.

‘CHD’ released a teaser trailer for Wednesday’s episode. In the teaser, Malik admitted this is his first interview in about six years.

He’s typically timid and shy when it comes to talking about his personal life, One Direction days, etc., but it appears the singer has a brand-new attitude.

“I feel like we were so overexposed in the band that like, that’s why I’ve took the time I have to not like, necessarily do interviews,” he explained. “They were just like, ‘Oh yeah, you can be the mysterious one.’ That’s not necessarily my personality. I’m just chill.”

Zayn made an abrupt and shocking exit from the hit boy band in 2015. Zayn and his former bandmates haven’t had the best relationship since his departure.

Liam Payne made some controversial comments about Zayn during a 2022 appearance on Logan Paul’s podcast, “ImPAULsive.”

Payne said, “There’s many reasons why I dislike Zayn, and many reasons why I’ll always, always be on his side. If I had had to go through what he went through… through his growth and whatever else… I don’t agree with any of his actions, I can’t commend some of the things he’s done. I can’t be on his side for that.”

The singer recently expressed remorse for his comments about Malik in a YouTube video titled, “I’m back.”

Since leaving One Direction and launching his own solo career, Malik became a father.

In 2020, he and then-girlfriend, Gigi Hadid, welcomed their first child together. They had a baby girl named Khai in September of that year.

“Since I’ve had my daughter, the main thing in my mind is trying to be a good example to her,” Malik admitted to Cooper. “That’s why I’m even doing this interview, you know? Like, I used to get a lot of anxiety around having a conversation, just like this. And, I want her to be able to look at me and be like, ‘Yo, my dad’s doing this.’”

At one point in the teaser, Cooper asked Malik, “What is your biggest dad quality that you’ve proudly taken on that makes you laugh a little when you think about it?”

The singer proudly revealed his newfound “dad quality.”

“I keep being told I’m telling dad jokes, and I’m leaning into it. I’m just like, ‘It’s ok. It’s cool.’ People just look at me like I’m a weirdo and I’m like, ‘Yeah, I’m a dad now. I’m allowed to tell these jokes. You have to give me a pass,’” he said. “I feel like we get to a certain point in adult life where everything’s kind of vague and gray and boring. And, she’s [Khai] brought that back for me.”

“If they don’t know everything yet, that’s ok. But hopefully, they get to know me a little bit better in this interview,” he said before the teaser ended.
