Sam Asghari Breaks Silence On Britney Spears' Alleged Security Slap

Actor Sam Agshari is speaking out after his wife, singer Britney Spears, was reportedly assaulted by a member of Victor Wembanyama’s security team.

It's been reported that the 41-year-old pop star went up to the NBA star from behind and tapped him on the back to request a photo. The Director of Team Security for the San Antonio Spurs allegedly slapped the singer, who fell to the ground. A police report has been filed and law enforcement officials are currently treating this as a criminal case.

“I am opposed to violence in any form, especially without justification in the defense of yourself or someone else who is unable to defend themselves,” Sam began. “Self-defense can be unavoidable, but the woman of any woman, especially my wife, is not debatable. I consider my reaction subdued considering what occurred, and I hope the man in question learns a lesson and changes his disregard for women. Thank you for the support.”

He followed it up with a second slide, which read, “The violent behavior of an out-of-control security guard should not cast a shadow on the accomplishment of a great young man on the rise @wemby,” he continued. “The blame should fall on the coward who did this, the people who hired him without proper vetting, and a systemic culture of disregard for women within sports and entertainment.”

“I can’t imagine a scenario where an unarmed female fan showing any kind of excitement or appreciation for a celebrity would cause her to be physically assaulted, much less being hit in the face for tapping someone on the shoulder,” he added. “The changes needed will have to come for the top, and I look forward to those changes.”

At this time, the pop star has yet to publicly comment on the matter on her Instagram page. The extent of her injuries is unknown at the time, although a witness claimed that she hid her face with a hat when she was leaving the area.

A Canadian man named Brian Grajales spoke to TMZ on Thursday afternoon to give his version of events. He claimed that Victor was walking toward the restaurant with his entourage when Britney tried to “infiltrate” her way into his circle. He said that she kept saying “Excuse me, sir… excuse me, sir,” in a British accent.

Brian noted that the security guard, who has been identified as Damian Smith on the police deport, gave her a “backhand slap across the face.” Although initial reports say that Britney was struck hard enough that she fell down, Brian wasn’t sure if she literally went to the ground, but admitted that the singer was “hunched over.” He also agreed with reports that the glasses had been knocked off Britney’s face.

Law enforcement officials originally told TMZ that the security guard had hit the back of Britney’s hand, and as a result, she accidentally ended up hitting her own face. However, Brian disputes this claim. He says that he not only saw the physical slap, but that he was able to hear it as well.

Victor said that no one in the area seemed to identify the pop star at the time. He said that Victor left with his entourage and did not check if the pop star was okay. He says a few people did remain behind to either see if she was okay, or subdue her if she tried to approach him again.

According to Brian, the singer shouted “This is f—ing America,” still in a British accent, after the incident occurred. Britney was reportedly with her husband, Sam Asghari, and two other individuals when the incident happened around 8:30 PM on Wednesday night at the Catch restaurant in the ARIA Hotel. It is unclear where Sam and the rest of her party were at the time the slap reportedly occurred.
